Saddened to learn Andrew Greedy Smith has suddenly passed - a ripper guy with a great voice and definitely a loss for the Oz music industry , great sense of humour and very much down to earth sort of dude
Rest easy champ I'll never forget that beer we shared years ago

Still watch Spicks and Specks re-runs.

It’s becoming the Passing Parade of Aussie talent with another guest of that show leaving us.

63 years old. Too young in this day and age.

Sheesh I only saw these guys playing at Crown not that long back.
Had a string of hits when I was a young tacker in the 1980s (Live It Up, If You Leave Me Can I Come Too, The Nips Are Getting Bigger, Too Many Times, Mr Natural etc) and were a good band to see live.

R.I.P Greedy

Really sad news. I was just playing a few Mentals tunes the other day, thinking about Greedy, Martin, Reg and the boys. He came from an era of really great Australian pub bands.

Sad to hear of the passing of Greedy Smith.Still have Mental as Anything on vinyl records.Wonderful band live.Greedy+Martin Plaza wrote and produced all there own music, very talented.
We where so spoilt in this country during the 1960's+70's+80's+90's.To have so much musical talent. When RBT started the live music industry died in Australia. No Ola or Uber's back then.Perth pub scene use to rock in the 1980's.The breeding ground for all those Aussie bands.

Live music in Perth the way it was is dead and upon hearing from a current working muso in town that the Charles is closing down thats another nail in the coffin, it will probably be downsized to a wanky boutique bar suitable only for $ubiaco and Claremont fans

Iconic band with a whole heap of songs that are part of Australian music folklore. Greedy was only 63 and had a lot more performing in him. Very sad loss.
