As a Foxtel subscriber I’m getting a bit pissed off with their half arsed approach to sports like Soccer and Basketball, in particular A-League and NBL. Makes it hard to keep track of who’s playing who and where to watch the bloody thing. Foxtel started out as ad free subscriber service. These days there is almost as much ads as free to air and still they palm half of it off to the ABC, SBS and ESPN. I’m not very impressed.

Mate I ditched the foxtel last year.

When they lost EPL, I hung onto it for the AFL for a couple of years, last year I decided to flick it and see how I went without for a season, never missed it at all, I was happy with what free to air served up AFL wise and I got OPTUS Sport for the EPL and a heap of other international Football.

As you say the coverage and price was increasingly uncooperative, and the adds are a shocker, OPTUS Sport is virtual add free and a far better service.

I did notice it a bit recently with the Rugby World Cup, ended up going up the bowling club last night to watch the wales v rsa game

Have looked into KAYO Sport although have heard mixed reports on reliability.

Baz I just use the same old trick whenever I'm pissed off with Foxtel ring them up and say you are not satisfied or finances are a bit tight right now and wish to cancel. They will always offer you a great deal to stay connected. I've currently got Sport and Docos along with the basic package for $29 a month over 12 months. No contract lock in can cancel at any time.

But I posted above even with that deal. ??

You are not alone as far as Foxtel is concerned. Unfortunately because the AFL,Tennis and Athletics are so important to me I have been reluctant to change. The cost is a joke and their customer service is non existent.

I have two boxes in diffent rooms so the all up cost for me is $190 per month.

The second box went down 3 month's ago and each time I contacted Foxtel I was put straight onto their mobile phone message problem resolution with a new bloke in India.

Had to go through the same process each time. Reboot the box re-attach the cables.
I swapped boxes over after the first 45 minute fiasco which confirmed it was a box issue as it worked in the other location in my house.

However it was impossible to get them to stop going through their formatted response.

Emailed the complaint section twice and got no response. Demanded somebody call me and they simply ignored me.

I'm going to cancel this week.

Yeah I used to drop the sport when the AFL was over, go down to basic then add it on, but I didn't want any of it in the end, they did the usual offered me the world for sfa , but I was gone my mind was made up, no more quid to them.

$30 a month even with the sport was a rip off.

join the ever increasing crowd of ex Foxtel crew, they are losing people in huge numbers to internet providers. the days of cable and sateliite are pretty much coming to an end.

Ive got Fetch TV and Optus Sport now, could not be happier, just top up with FTA, might look at Kayo next AFL season , if you sign up with a mate, you will get every sport Fox has and more for 12.50 bucks a month.

I used the free Kayo Trial for a couple of weeks, the service is great...the only downside is you get it on a device and require a chrome cast to get it on your TV, which apparently can be problematic.

the way to go is a new SONY Tv which has the APP on the TV ready to go for a live feed direct.

Its actually pretty poor compared to other providers

I get BBC World, CNN, NBC, Russia TV, French News, China TV, Euro News, AL Jazeer, and others on Optus, and I watch SKY UK live on You Tube Free.
