So the AFL babies have a crack at the big one.

Do people think this is a sign of success and future.

For me its a manufactured result, the GF appearance is what the AFL wanted.

Long term as the concessions fade, so will the success, even with them making the GF interest in them has hardly raised a heartbeat.

I had someone in my ear going on about how it was about growing the game and getting kids playing, yep sure are few more a playing than before, but I dont think you need the Giants or Suns for that.

Giants were given the most concessions by a mile and true as Sheedy said they’ve lost about 20 really good players but you have to take into account they get well compensated with early draft picks every time they lose a good player and it will probably always be the case for them.

I would probably say they’ve got the least amount of talent they’ve ever had this year but now they are experienced and battle hardened.

I think it shows that it hasn’t worked. This is a club that have been regulars in the top six for a few years now and don’t seem to have developed much popularity at all. They say they have 30 thousand members but regularly play in front of home crowds of ten thousand, less than Gold Coast. And played a home final in front of 20 thousand , half of them bulldog supporters.

I think what is has proven is their list build process where they continued to stockpile talent and mix it with players with great personality was a better list build than Gold Coast who got some kids and put them around selfish players only in it for the money.

GWs will be there for a long time to come guys, they are not a basket case and as long as clubs raid their coffers and pay overs they will continue to get good value to take back to the draft.

They have two first round picks this year again thanks to Essendon giving up their first pick for Dylan Shiel

It may become successful in the future. Bit like the Sydney coddling years ago.

Well I reckon we just witnessed peak giants

They won’t be there next year and watch them spiral to Gold Coast status without concessions
