Seriously JL as coach....FMD great little fella but done nothing in the long format as a coach...Gillespie has won County Champs and short formats....would Gillespie take it?....but agree Lehmann needs to go.... Bancroft's career is gone....whilst Smith and Warner need to be suspended for 12 months to show real intent that the CA have zero tolerance to any bullshit behavior....

Spot on Freez...I'd go for Gillespie as well. JL has been cruelled by injuries, players being called up for international duties and so on this year at Shield level but I still don't think he's done enough to get a national gig. As for suspending these clowns 12 months sounds about right too... but will it happen? I doubt it.....

12 months suspension are you lot for real?
I have seen less time for manslaughter in our courts this is a game of cricket FFS.
Yeah they were naughty boys, broke the rules and got caught ball tampering as the likes of DuPlessis, Philander, Atherton, Waqar Younis, Dravid & Sachin Tendulkar have all been found guilty of.
Hit them were it really hurts in the hip pocket and im not talking the usual $10k fine either along with any leadership responsibilities now and for the rest of their career!

who said anything about putting them in jail like you would for manslaughter? suspending them for an extended period would be hitting them in their back pocket. these guys are multi millionaires...what good would a stiff fine be to them if they were allowed straight back onto the field and start earning again? one year in playing tests and in IPL and they'd be back to where they started but Australia's reputation in the cricket world would still be shit.

If that's right then Smith, Warner and Bancroft should be on the next plane home and Lehmann sacked given his involvement of getting on the walkie talkie and giving those 3 a heads up that they've been sprung on the big screen.

Go to agree with your comments here BC, I was somewhat cynical about Bancroft just being in the wrong place at the wrong time when the leadership group was having a meeting.
Why would the most inexperienced player be so close to those discussions?
If the others in the leadership were not aware then it is all the more damning for Smith, Warner and Bancroft.

has anyone seen this Video?

wwos.nine.com.au/2018/03/26/11/19/cricke...e-sugar-ashes-series

Can anyone tell me what Bancroft was doing putting sugar in his pockets during the ashes???? May be more to this than 1 try to change the ball? from this clip it looks like it has been going on for some time, they appear to have just changed their ways to get reverse swing faster in SA

Do the maths BH....you want to hit them where it hurts....12 month suspension for Smith is what 800K....Warner 600K?....PLUS u take away what they really love doing....playing cricket....makes sense to me

what sort of fine are you thinking of BH?..100 - 200K?....but hey boys u can keep playing and thus keep earning?....how is that a punishment?..LOL....

Australia Cricket has a huge opportunity here to turn a destructive negative into a constructive positive.. Aust are a laughing stock worldwide right now...win folk over and show them that Australians play hard but FAIR......yeah everyone does it ...we know....and has done it....many wrongs don't make a right....lets make it right and set a precedent here....you cheat you pay the price.. zero tolerance.... hopefully other cricket playing nation's will follow suit or be made to follow suit....

Freezin: yes and yes again. The situation is so bad now, that, as a result of what Smith has done, nobody in Australia could even have a go at 'murli' for being a 'thrower' without being laughed at by the rest of the cricket world. If we ban them -- as we should -- we will be able to look SA and England in the eye and say: 'at least we banned ours'

A somewhat more (in my opinion) level-headed and cautious view of the affair, and one with which I agree more than disagree.

Despite some of the dire predictions and overboard reactions here, and on other social and mainstream media, this is not the end of western civilisation as we know it.
