Crap game, crap team.

Some ot you people are amazing,Snobs,you wanna look in the mirror maybe!Unfortunately the sporting world isnt just AFL/WAFL like you want it to be.I followed the Western Force because they WERE a WA team ,same as i follow glory,western fury,perth heat,wafl any sporting team that represents WA.Sure the government spent a few bucks on setting up nib stadium but it isnt the 1.5 billion spent setting up a stadium for AFL!I dont follow Australian Rugby anymore,fark the wallabies,the ARU bent the Western Force over the table when they kicked them out but I will follow the western force when Twiggy gets his comp going.

Fitzory were getting those crowds when they were axxed by the AFL

I'm with you Bond.....stuff the Wallabies and the Super 15 or whatever it is these days. Some weeks the attendance at Force games was 13k other weeks it was less...Perth Glory the same and Wildcats a little bit more. The Force were a WA team and deserve our support. Its definitely not a "western suburbs" centric game as the likes of Palmyra, Stratton and Bayswater have teams so get over it. I never went to a Force game but enjoyed watching them on TV. They were shafted by the ARU.

I am against taxpayer sponsorship of any sporting teams fullstop, as if road safety sponsoring a rugby team is going to change peoples driving habits one iota. But hey, that Barnett government sure knew how to throw cash into thin air

There are many examples of govt/taxpayer funded sports sponsorships around Australia, where does the money come for the TAC cup in Victoria? What about the Healthways sponsorship of a number of sports?

Sponsorships of specific teams I referred to I don’t mind taxpayer sponsorship of whole competitions and leagues that is a good use of taxpayer funding. But individual clubs shouldn’t get huge sums, I can imagine all the Tasmanians who passionately support afl clubs other than Hawthorn wouldn’t be thrilled at their government

TOO: Riley Oval is out at the University of Western Australia. The rugby posts are just about the first thing you see right out front of the Arts Faculty -- although it has be re-developped a bit in the last twenty years.

Spot on, they were goners but were still sucking at the teet of the gov for the 1.5 Mil and they knew it, fact is they were clearly not viable, Perth Simply cant support so many franchises, whats really annoying is the role or more so lack of it of Twiggy, how come he comes charging on the scene when the game was up literally where was he when the back room deal of 1.5 Mil was orchestrated virtually unlawfully?

whole things a bloody disgrace and anyone who thinks twiggy was doing anything more than grandstanding is kidding themselves, and if they are waiting for twiggies promised rebel league you will waiting a long time, it was a BS thought bubble...

I guess the 10,000 per game they averaged in 2017 would disagree....more than all WAFL games combined each week.

That's a misrepresentation of the true support they had, in the years leading up to the final season they only pulled average around 8000 a game, the only reason they pulled more in the last year was because they knew the axe was about to fall and it was a last desperate attempt to save them with "massive" crowds,,,tbh if the best they could do is 10K in what's supposed to be a top grade international league ( unlike WAFL) when under threat on extinction , they there were deader than a lot here imagine.
