Yep, it will end up blowing up in their face, give it a few years, the novelty factor wears off and loses come flooding in they could have a very expensive and despised lemon on their hands.

It didn't - 13,000 didn't bother turning up - either that or it was BS from the start, to me it looked half empty more like 30,000.

Take your head out fellas, it will become very smelly in there.
There were 52,000 tickets sold.It is a vast stadium , so they tell me.People moving about with freedon, unlike it was at Subi.
Yep maybe they didn't get the 52,000 that bought tickets, but a crowd of over 41,000 isn't bad for a game of any sort.
As Peter Norman said some where, stop living in the past, get over it. THEY SOLD 52,000 TICKETS.
That equates to over a$100, 000 going to a charity.
Wouldn't the WAFL just love to be able to draw a crowd like that, even at $2 a ticket.

Lets be realistic the match was put there to attract people to the new stadium, not because the game would be a draw card.

Dockers next game, they are expecting less than 10K at Freo Oval. Be surprised if you could find 10,000 people in WA who would actually go because they enjoy the game.

I think i saw at least two dozen people in the stands on the last televised Women's Perth glory match.
Thatll be the AFLW in a few years.

The WAFL could learn something from the women's comp...reduce admission charges to get more people through the gates.

3100 is a frightfully low number considering the free entry and being the only footy on in WA atm.

Fremantle won by 5points.
One young girl, Emily McGuire, showed incredible skills.I believe she is the daughter of Oral McGuire.Watch out for her.
Sorry Orals neice.

Certainly is an acquired "taste" anchor. After reading your post here, I thought I'd watch the replay. Probably the most boring 12 mins of my life. Reminded me of the odd time when I tried to force myself to watch soccer!!!

saw some highlights on the news , knowing freo oval well, all I could see was a lot of empty space and it seemed to me a few thousand tops, which is a huge crash in numbers from the stadium, proving that people went to see the stadium not the game afl better keep this crap free or it was be 2 old birds on bikes and a pit bull watching it.
