Dead right mate I would give my left knacker to have a Baggy Green Cap even a Black & Gold one for WA.....plus a League game for the Mighty Black Ducks!

BH: Here is a Victoria XI for the period 1980 to the present. Criteria is those born in Victoria.

1 Elloit
2 Phillips
3 Jones
4 Hodge
5 Yallop
6 Taylor
7 berry
8 Reiffel
9 Warne
10 Merv
11 hogg

12 Dodemaide

It is not a bad side, good batting line-up with some good bowllers headed by Warne; but, comparred to what other states could put in the field, with the possible of SA, the side would finish near the bottom most years.

To be honest AR that is a pretty ordinary side especially in the batting component considering 2 of them highlighted have never even played Test Cricket.
Bowling side of things pretty good Warne is obviously a legend the others all good Test bowlers for Australia plus you could say Siddle & Pattinson are not far behind those named.
But all in all for a near 40 year period it is a little bit disappointing that side you have named especially considering the Vics massive population (close to 7 million) and compared to their NSW rivals who could field 3 sides better than that one and not too mention the Vics self proclaimed so called "sports capital of the world" claim!

BH -- your a hard man, but your right. Here is a WA second XI which would be a match for their first side.

Laird
Wood
GR Marsh
Voges
SE Marsh
North
TZ
Julian
Matthews
Hogan
Angle

I have excluded Moody Maclay and McEwan as they were not locals

yes Jack, I will have a go

Hussey

Valetta -- I want a right hand batsman

Shipperd -- made a lot of runs in the Shield and in South Africa -- was also preferred over GR Marsh by the selectors.

Langer

Hughes

Katich

Marsh

Yardley

Lilliee

Reid

Alderman

Again_- I have excluded Damien Martyn.

Bit harsh on the non local bit mate, don't think Moody or Macleay played for any other State. Sure Moody was born in Adelaide but went to school in WA, Macleay was born O/S but came here young. McEwan was from South African from memory and came to WA as an adult.

Not that was ever a huge Damien Marytn fan but he came to WA when he was 3 after being born in Darwin. Maybe need to background the rest to see if there eligible to sit in parliament.
