Renshaw fails again...hasn't had a decent knock so far...surely if Bancroft or S Marsh get a decent score one of those two will be a strong chance for an openers spot next week perhaps? Fan of playing Renshaw, but surely he will be a gimmee wicket for Jimmy or Broad in his current form?...Good to see Wade get out for a nothing innings again....

Freezn, the way things go these days as I see them, nether will get the gig.
They do not come from NSW.
If they both do get runs, Shaun should get the opener's spot and Bancroft number 6.
How you can fit them into an eleven that includes 7 or 8 NSW players is the question IMHO

No argument from me Freezn. But that is five (5). Add possibly Nevill, Kawaja (yes I know he is now QLD but his origin is NSW) that makes seven (7) and they have been suggesting one or two of their mates as well.
Realisticly they could have more. So it could be NSW v England and that wouldn't be an Ashes series.

No issue with the above Freeze as all are in our best Test XI currently plus former NSW boy Khawaja it is when the likes of Henriques, Maddinson, Copeland et al get the nod due to their baggy sky blue allegiances that gets raised eyebrows!!

Kawhaja on Aussie pitches and so far this season deserves his selection like the others from NSW..Nevill only to get in because Wade and Carey not doing anything to help their cases......Bancroft and Harris making late challenges....who knows Bancroft to keep and bat at 6 like Bairatow.....Mitch Marsh making a last minute dash as well.....can't see Maddinson or Maxwell get in after todays failures....Cartwright didn't go on to seal his case today sadly....

Getting interesting now, hopefully Bancroft can convert this one into a century and he might find himself in the squad. Renshaw is on shaky ground now, he would really need to make some runs in Queenslands 2nd innings to save his spot. As for the number 6 spot, Cartwright and Maxwell didnt advance their cases today, we will wait and see how Lehmann and Ferguson go when SA bat. Finally we are none the wiser on the wicket keeper role. It seems that nobody wants it. I still would be reluctant to pick Bancroft in that role. I think his best spot is opener without the wicketkeeping responsibilities.

We had seven in the team in the early 80s and no one was complainning in this town. Thinking back most were worthy of selection too, but there is no doubt that someone, such as McCosker, could have easily been picked ahead of Laird. McCosker had an average of 40.00 when he was dropped and continued to make a lot of runs in the Shield.

Bancroft is certainly putting his name up there with 100 at the WACA just now against SA.

After 161no today following on from carrying his bat in the first innings against NSW (Aust) & a very nice 80 odd in the 2nd dig last match Bancroft just has to play in the 1st Test at the Gabba now.
In fact could the 2 debatable inclusions be Bangers and Marsh!!
