Not me, I think it is shite. Aussie rules is fast losing its uniqueness and becoming an amalgam of other shite sports like basketball and soccer. Roll on cricket season!!

It maybe a different game to what we grew up with and I prefer the "old ways", but when you watch teams like Sydney and Hawthorn, it's really enjoyable. However, I do miss the big torp, the raking droppy and the bullet like stab pass. Bring them back!!!

I wonder why a Rule changes Obsessed AFL won't try that on?Probably because they know,it smacks of Little League stuff and they know this time, the masses wouldn't cop it,short of tearing AFL House down.

Is it Grassy? I better start going to the 9.30am start games then although next year??

Perhaps you should go to more Colts games, despite the rarely enforced zones being in operation, smarty pants!

As I understand it once the current generations of colts players move through to reserves and league the rule will follow. Should be in force from next or following year.

I believe they could fix the problem of having 36 players chasing the ball all over the ground by simply doing away with the number of interchanging that goes on now. I have noticed that the game "opens up" when they number of players on the bench is reduced by injuries and it makes it impossible for the players to run up and down the length of the ground endlessly. This usually results in more one on one contests which is what is missing now most of the time. The interchange system as it stands needs to be reduced to a bare minimum to cover injuries not having blokes sprinting on and off the ground ad nauseam. What really pisses me off is to see someone sprinting off the ground after less than three minutes after the start of the game or straight after they have kicked a goal.

There is an even simpler solution. Pay the obvious first free kick and throw the ball up sooner so you don't give the players to all be in the one spot.

No dream team points for a sheperd so players aren't interested

Just another example of the team second mentality of modern day football fellas...it is all about that next meaningless stat to collect rather than shepherding a team mate in a far better position.
