They'll all be too busy with the recriminations.... Going to be interesting watching this story. Simply can't see any quality candidates to step into the role.

BC wrote: I voted at Attadale primary school and was standing in line and overheard a couple talking about being confronted by a couple of guys as they were entering school grounds. apparently they were pushing Labor and were quite aggressive. it wouldn't be drawing too long a bow to suggest they were union thugs based on the article in the West. I didn't see them personally and only going on a conversation I overheard so could be wrong. it still mystifies me that the unions are so powerful in Labor when you consider less than 20% of employed Australians belong to a union...obviously union $ speaks big time...it's got me stuffed.

Its all about the cash BC, although they only represent a tiny portion of the work force,

Just look at the ASU for example they single handidly financed the anti Western Power sale campaign, its all about them maintaining subs, as one of the few areas they have as a member base are white collar WP workers. They also have PTA and Local Govt. but CSA dominate the Public Service.

The MUA and CFMEU pumped in a tonne of cash, they will have plenty of pull over all the policy over the next 4 years, take the MUA for example they are strongly anti sale of Freo Port Authority, that means McGowans plan for a private partnership for the new Indian Ocean Gateway and the entire project could get killed by the MUA (the MUA have kept the container port in Freo for this reason).

This is before we get to the nitty gritty of work place/site dealings etc.

Tough times ahead for states economic development.

Bazz.I spoke to a Cfmeu organiser this morning .I asked if there was a payback for the election help. The answer was 4 things will be asked of Sneakers.
1.Not to sell Fremantle Port in the next 4 years.
2.To build the Metro Net Trams locally, some mob in Forrestfield can do it.
3.Stop the MBA routing of the 457 visa scheme.
4.More local content on Government projects.

Don't mean to wander off topic. With Brendon Grylls looking very likely to lose his seat, will the Nationals be also looking for another leader? With about 70% of the vote counted, he's about 600 votes behind.

All seems reasonable on face value. Doubt their demands will end there though

Has to be Terry Redmond who he deposed who has held his seat comfortably and I suggest that's a lesson for those who want to topple party leaders. The karma bus didn't miss Brendan Grylls.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Rule a line through Francis, Jandakot is gone.

And the Nationals are looking for a new leader, Redman for me, should never have been kicked out by the gimp.

Not selling Freo Port is a problem - as long as MUA agree on the new Indian Ocean Gateway at Kwinana and its Private Partnership then OK< but I cannot see them doing that. they will lose members.

Mate Kwinana needs jobs, and 11,000 will flow from that project.

Building trains here is OK, as long as we have capacity and its financially cheaper.

I'm all for ending 457 rorts.
