Pretty easy to have a voice when you have your share of 29 million sitting in ya back pocket BH......but hey well done to Pete for doing so ;)

What is the story with the $29 Mill..

How much have taxpayers put in to the palaces at Lathlain and Cockburn for the Weagles and Cockers???

Bazza according to the SDFC President, Peter Hodyl, Duffield was CoMPLETELY WRONG with respect to the $29 million and SDFC.

So what is the 29 Mill based on???

Has SDFC had any dough from Gov at all?

Btw Its worth noting that SFFC is the ONLY club in the state including the two AFL clubs that own the land its clubhouse is built on in its OWN right FREE of tax payer support and pays its way in rates and taxes on that land.

Bazza I can't confirm whether Swans have ever had any government money. I suspect that the answer is yes; quite possibly grants from the Dept of Sport and Rec for instance. But specifically the alleged $29 million which is presumably for ground re-developments I reiterate that our president, Peter Hodyl has completely refuted that allegation.

I think that is 4 times you have made that claim now on ozfooty. Are you disputing what the SD President has said in his press release?

It is now up to Duffield to substantiate his claim or to apologise unreservedly.

Claremont & West Perth currently have new premises under construction at the moment that is correct but he has jumped the gun by lumping SD in with those 2 considering there is a lot of water to go under the bridge before anything happens at Bassendean (if at all).
But quite unbelievably no one is making any comment on Hodyl's most pertinent point in my opinion in his release in that the AFL contribution to WA football is downright minuscule (just over $2 million pa) and in fact they are taxing the 2 financial local WA clubs with there equalisation policy to prop up weak Vic, NSW & QLD clubs and no one here bats an eyelid.
This is an organisation that recently signed a 2.5 billion dollar TV rights deal.
Again I ask what was the whole point of WA getting involved in the VFL?
If it was to fark WA football over and over again to prop up weak Vic clubs then it has been a bloody success!

Then you would quite obviously support the SFFC entirely funding the proposed $20 million dollar redevelopment for Fremantle Oval without any tax or rate payer support?

SFFC own their land? What about SDFC?

If the FCC Council wish to redevelop THEIR portion of the oval then so be it, SFFC pay to use it, the proposed development is a joint project including all parties including EFFC, it will be self sustaining business/commercial leased project that FCC will recoup costs and SFFC will be securing its part of the funding with its OWN assets.ie Land it OWNS..Im not sure what EFFC are putting in but they may get something from the sale/subdivison of EFFC Oval from EFTC.

What are SDFC putting up as security for its project?

Perhaps you can direct that question to Duffield; apparently he knows everything about everything.
