You really have to question the timing of the Balla Balla announcement, as much as I hope it happens, to me it was clearly an election stunt, the signed deal means pretty much sfa in the scheme of things, I would be surprised to see it vanish off the table 2 weeks after the election, what ever happened to Anketell Port?

mate Balla Balla has been on the drawing board for 7 or 8 years that I can recall. I met with the Rutila guys in Sydney about 5 years ago and don't think it's progressed very far since then. I'd be surprised if there's any movement of significance for several years so yes, I'd say it is an election stunt.

I was just reading the new Royal Adelaide Hospital is having similar problems to our kids hospital with delays, cost overruns, contamination and so on. Australia's most expensive building at $2b hasn't opened yet either...so we're not alone.

Devonleigh was told today that the lead in the pipes was from the way they where welded in China.Copper pipe manufacuturer from China must of supplied both the PCH and Adelaide Hospital.

I have been in Adelaide for work just recently BC and you are quite correct ...at first I thought I was still in WA with all the whinging and whining about a delayed children's hospital!

my brother-in-law is a tradie who's been working on PCH and he is convinced the water has been sabotaged as it runs on the same loop as QE11/Charlie Gardiner's which is fine...so it doesn't make any sense in his opinion that PCH is having problems whilst QE11 isn't. I don't know myself but he's been there and seen it first hand.

Would explain a lot.

When copper deposits are mined they contain traces of lead and silver.

If the smelting process is slack and the lead not removed to standards you end up with a contamination problem.

If it is a contamination problem, who was the cost cutting smart-ass who didn't do the quality survey???????????

Had the pleasure of working on the Fiona Stanley Hospital plant room for a couple of years and the amount of total Shyt materials from China was a disgrace.
