AR D Trump virtually has to win all the swing states. I am of the opinion that when push comes to shove the US electors will recognise Trump for what he is:

a superficial, vacuous, misogynistic, xenophobic buffoon. And they are his "good" points.

I'd hate to be a yank and having to vote. One's a loose cannon the other is evil personified - and by the looks of it, a crook. Guess it's mad v bad. They'd be better off with mad. Would rather have a bum pincher over a money raker.

gtr: the thing about US politics is that nearly all the political class seems to be on the take. It is corruption if you use your position of power to get others to pay monies on your behalf; the question which needs to be asked is: How many poor people got access to the Clintons, whether they be Americans or foreigners?

In terms of the state department scandal, why was she mixing work and pleasure? The fact is, that back in July, Comey testified before Congress that Clinton had lied to the FBI; that she had mis-used classified information, and, among other things, in addition, destroyed e-mails which Congress had demanded. I wish Comey had done his job, followed the logic of his own evidence to Congress, and indictted her six months ago. Had he done so I would have happily votted for Bernie. If Hillary wins on Tuesday she is in grave danger of facing impeachment proceedings in future years.

gtr: that is so true; if you believe all the American bull-shit about the superiority of a republic over a monarchy, we should not have seen the following in the US over the last two hundred years:

two father son combinations
a husband and wife team

as republics are not supposed to have entrenched familial power.

The great thing about the Westminster system, as you know gtr, is that over the years it has evolved in such a way that the Crown is the guarantor of liberal/social democracy. Nobody is going to overthrow the Queen/GG unless the Monarch acts unconstitutionally; but, at the same time, her very presence prevents politicians from undermining democracy.

This is a stability which republics around the world can only dream of emulatting, I am afraid.
