Clinton represents the status quo and despite being a women, she will win. But really who in their right mind would give Trump the power of being the commander in Chief of what is still the most powerful military machine in the world and control of the launch codes.

If it was any half reasonable republican nominee they would win comfortably over Clinton who is carrying a lot of suspect baggage, but they have to face up to Trump who is a series of media grabs and random disconnected thought bubbles that may sound good to the poor and uneducated but any republican with half a brain (yes apparently there are some) is likely not to vote at all. They would never vote democrat but cant bring themselves to vote for a moronic fuckwit who has zero respect for women and no actual policies besides building walls and espousing vacuous feel good statements to the great unwashed.

Such a shame that Bernie didn't get the gig he would have been a revelation with so many great ideas that would swing the US to a more centre right system, but the vast middle America fears any significant change so he realistically never stood a chance in a country where the majority believe something like a national health scheme is an infringement of their comfortable middle class rights.

Such a shame that Obama couldn't have another term but I guess he's over banging his head against the wall that is the republican dominated congress.

In my first post on this thread I said Trump had to win the following states:

Florida,
NC
Nevada
Ohio
Colorado


The Democrat vote has collapssed in NC, Trump holds a seven point lead in spite of trailling as recentlly as two days ago. In addition, the Republicans lead the Democrats by four per cent in Florida, and, by smaller margins in both Nevada and Ohio. Hillary is narrowlly in front in Colorado, but the trend is against her. Worryinglly for her, her margins are also disappearing in safe Democrat states, including Virginia and NH; in those two states, Trump has moved to within four percentage points of the lead.

Let me preface my commens by saying that I would struggle to vote for H Clinton as she is far too right for me. However, in a contest between H Clinton and D Trump there is no contest. No sane person could possibly vote for D Trump unless you want a world trade war with China; a potential world war; an exacerbation of world wide terrorism; a misogynistic, xenophobic US President.

By the way D Trump is barely getting 10% of the African-American vote. H Clinton did not cheat B Sanders (an Independent) out of the Democratic primaries: H Clinton won more of the popular vote and delegates (excluding super delegates) than B Sanders.

Wikileaks is much ado about nothing. There was very little that was consequential in all the released emails.

With respect to the two candidates: it is a damning indictment on both parties, especial the republican Party.

Ladbrokes have eased H Clinton out from $1.15 to $1.40. Still heavily in favour of a H Clinton win and for the sake of humanity we can only hope that they are right.

BUT the British are leaving the EU so you will see a trade war between Europe and China. The Europeans are entirely within their rights. Trump is right on this question.

gtr: I am totally opposed to her plan to have 'no fly zones in Syria', as it will start a war with Russia. She is the war monger --- Iraq, Libya, Syria -- and, you are right, she is a Russophobe from way back.

the Assad government is the legally recognised government of Syria
Assad has every right to fight and win the civil war
the West has been trying to overthrow a legal government
Russia has entered the Civil War on the side of the legal government
Russia's intervention is completely within the rule of international law
Russia is fighting against ISIS -- a common enemy of the West

Her proposed policy on Syria is legally, stategically and morally bankrupt.

You are right gtr a Trump victory will change the landscape in the Middle East in favour of co-operation with Russia to the benefit of the West and Moscow.
