What a load of horse shit! This is what you get when you have school teachers running the show!, sure there has to be a standard and protocols, but surely as coach Mickey could sit down one on one with all players and gleen their thoughts, whats he getting paid for? Im not a fan of Watson but i think he has made a big statement in the way Aust cricket is being run and i would retire if i was him until Mickey and co were gone..dropping test cricketers for not handing in an essay??? And Clarke cant get away with this shambles either, him making mountains of runs just clouds it, he plays favourites like Warner who is his bum chum and is the reason Hussey retired apparently. i'm with you dog..biggest load of chit in ages. surely a round table with open and honest opinions would be far better than writing a grade 3 school assignment. it sounds to me arthur has run out of ideas and is hoping for a bright spark or 2 from the players

Yeh we are gonna need some ideas before July! I think Arthur fell out with Smith in his time at SAfrica which is no surprise.. I did laugh at Damien Flemmings reaction though when he said at least Ed Cowan will be nominated for a Nobel literary award after his submission haha

wish Watson showed as much character in not writing his 3rd grade report than he does playing cricket.....whilst I agree the whole thing is a bit bizarre, no one individual is bigger than the side.....especially your vice captainwho is too marshmellow to bowl and gets out too often with 25 runs on the board....piss off Watson the best thing to happen to Australian cricket.....the guy is an enigma....hopefully Arthurs will go with him, the guy is a joke....as he was with WA!!

I think its the tipof a very big iceberg. reckon cricket has been rooted here every since James Sutherland took the helm. terrible selectors and selections for start, and now INVARARITY..pleeeasssseeee bloke is straight out of Uni of WA, and looks and sounds like a retired professor, sorts bloke the Poms would have had 10years ago. Need some recent cricketers having more input.. Waugh Taylor Langer boof Lehman come to mind. The side has been medicore for years, and falt track buliies against lesser teams, and Cricket Australia is happy to go along with this rubbish.

Writing some lines may have not been the best way to deal with the situation, but if you're asked to do it - you do it - they're paid enough.

Langer until recently was the Australian batting coach and left the role to become WA coach, when he was battign coach for Australia nobody bar Clarke and Hussey were consistent though he has got some improvement out of WA.

Lehmann needed state experience and would be next in line..

people can bag coaches and selectors as much as they want but the players are not good enough and nobody in Shield cricket is putting runs on the board..

the fact that some people want Shaun Marsh in the test team says it all, he's made 7 hundreds in 77 games of 1st class cricket and he's probably the next best player going around..

Agreed Unca,this is just the tip of the iceberg.I'm guessing there is a lot more to this than just some rubbish about not doing your homework.Talk about kid's stuff.Mickey Arthur is certainly drawing attention to himself and it may well come back to bite him.
