And why are the media calling her remarks on Islam racist, last time I checked Islam is a religion not a race no surprise Hanson almost got a million votes , people are sick of minority leftists groups like the greens shutting down discussion on Islam.

Homaphobia , mutilation of women's genitalia and random violence against them is tolerated it truly is a horid religion and yet people call it the religion of peace.

Would need to agree, Peter. She is courageous on speaking out and saying her thoughts. I cannot understand the backlash either.
The problem lies with personalities (such as Sonia) not being allowed to express personal viewpoints. They are there to present and tell the official accepted version of things. Big business lucrative sponsorships are part of the popular presenters earnings because the personality is seen as being nice and well liked. Have now noticed some sponsors are now distancing themselves from her. With the possibility of sponsors now losing money, a lot of organisations are now worried. It's all about money I'm sad to say.

The intellectual left should be the first to criticise religion in society supposedlly being secular in orientation; as I have said before on here, the left long ago gave up their communist manifesto where it stated clearly that religion was the 'opium of the people' and mentioned nothing about multi-culturalism. The bitter irony is, that should Islam ever become the majority in society, the intellectual left will be the first targetted for not believing in god. Back in the days of the Iran hostage saga, apparently the regime tossed up whether to attack the Soviet embassy or the American counterpart; in the end, they chose to attack Washington's embassy partly because they regarded Communism as a 'dying ideology'.

Peter there is islamic leaders in Australia trying to create a new AU Islamic Religion.Trying to be relative to modern day Australia.That would be a far more moderate view on most issues outside the Mosk walls.Did read that a few years ago. The problem is that the differnt Islam faiths just dont get on as shown in Western Sydney and all over the world.Malaysia would be a good example for these new faith to follow.

But what they don't realize is that there are so many nut cases blowing themselves up that Allah has run out of female virgins......

The answer to it all lies in the word CULTURE. There are vastly different cultures in the world and each deserve respect in itself but the problem lies where some people want to abandon their homeland for a better life, fair enough but then they don't want to respect OUR CULTURE and start telling us they are offended and WE need to respect THEIR culture. If the reverse were the case and we went to their land for a better life and started ranting how we are offended and they need to respect our culture, they would piss themselves laughing and kick our ass.

Then you have the pot smoking tree huggers who believe all cultures can exist together in harmony. FMD

These very same tree huggers are all for equal rights for gays , and then condemn people having ago at Islam which is a religion that is homophobic and in some countries are stoned to death for being gay, hypocrypts.

Why is it acceptable to have Catholic masses said in Polish, Italian, Latin etc in Australia. Why are they not all forced to celebrate the mass in English only?

There are limits to what one is allowed to say; there is no implicit right that we can say what ever we like.
