India are pretty average right now, but they'll be too good in the conditions for us.

We simply won't be able to handle the spinning conditions, and our spinners aren't good enough to exploit them.

Pujara will score a mountain of runs IMO.

I can't say that the Aussie team looks to be all conquering. Maybe a little fragile, but I hope they make me eat my words!!

Agree with this. I fear our fragile batting will be embarrassed by the Indian spinners. The sooner they get Watson up the order to open with either Warner or Cowan the better.

Good move leaving Maxwell and Doherty out. They are both hopeless spinners. Lucky we've got the best spinner in the squad in the team though - Michael Clarke. He'll need to bowl a fair few overs you'd reckon. As might Warner if he's up to it.

I agree that Clarke is pretty much the best spinner we have; shame his back is screwed so he can't bowl as much as we need him to.

Agar took 3 today for WA and looks a very bright prospect for the future. Ahmed also took 5 for Victoria and may come into calculations when he becomes eligible for Australia.

Yeh saw Agar today and he looks the goods, i will predict he will play a lot of Test cricket for Australia just hope they keep him away from the shorter forms as this will ruin him, nothing surer. The best weapon he has i reckon is his height, this really allows him to get above the batsmans eyeline easier which is very deceptive..and ofcourse he turns it unlike our current spinners

It is going to be hard to hang on now.A wicket of rolled clay and worn to dusty in nature.Hard work ahead for the boys.

Everyone predicted a smashing and thats what we are gonna get

Whilst I don't envy the Aussies batting on this track, be nice to see some down to earth Aussie grit......but besides Clarke who in this side plays spin with any assurance?

Watson gone already.....geez this guy is the best 15 - 30 run player Australia has probably produced in the last 20 years.....thing is who is gonna replace any of this eleven if Aust get done by an innings or 10 wickets....Smith, Maxwell and Doherty don't actually intill me with confidence.....

christ Cowan and Hughes now gone....at least with Cowan the selectors new what they getting....a solid left hander who averaged 30 odd in the Shield, who has carried thru to the test level.....Hughes on the other hand does better at the shield level, teased us initially, then again of late....but sadly all the work in the world on his technique will come up short....no matter who's the Aussie batting coach!!

I have no doubt that India's spin bowlers are better than ours, but this pitch is a disgrace having said that they made 572 but i can't remember Lyon and co getting the same turn, bounce and the ball keeping low as it is now absolute mine field at the moment.
