Hope the weakend Windies are competitive in this series.Its a good oppotunity for younger players and players that have missed selection previous.
Whos not here Gayle,Pollard,Sammy,Bravo,Roach.The best West Indies side is reasonable,,Shiv Chandapaul??Fantasic test player.

Roach is in the squad mate the others arent tho most will be in Australia playing Big Bash would you believe ..sheesh Chanderpaul is older than me but yeah was a great player for the Windies for 20 years or more.

Shiv played for the Windies in there South Africa tour earlier this year,allways trying to bat them out of trouble.ACB should try and help resolve this problem with Carribean Cricket.

This tour will be the equivelant of watching hawthorn play the mukinbudin reserves side

Those Aussie batsmen from the late 70s & 80s like Hughes, Chappell's, Border, Wood, Dyson, Laird, Marsh, Hookes, Ritchie et al who had their averages and their confidence dented by the production line of Caribbean Express Bowlers in the likes of Roberts, Holding, Garner, Marshall, Croft, Clarke, Walsh, Ambrose, Bishop, Benjamin et al that we seemed to come up against every second summer must be shaking their heads in disbelief at the dramatic falling away of West Indies Cricket freeze!
I dont think 1 player of this current squad would have even made a West Indies Third XI side back in those halcyon days!

Glad they didn't break the 451 partnership record of Bradman and Ponsford, that would have been a travesty!

Tbh the great West Indies bowlers of the eighties would have trouble bowling sides out on the roads dished up so far excluding Adelaide , the size of the bats and number ofvshort balls allowed per over , batsman game I'm afraid.

can anyone pin point the period in time when it all went so wrong for WI cricket? has it been a gradual thing or was there a defining moment?

I can't believe they're so bad now after the halcyon days of the 80's etc.
