Happy to debate / chat footy and eat mothballs anytime mikeh....but some folk really need to take their team off that tower scraper high pedestal though.....whilst you fear the credibility of the comp if Peel get decimated by Freo for their finals quest, I reckon a few fans are waiting to jump up and down to say I told you so...they want Peel to be decimated and then hammered thus making the comp a laughing stock....42 keeps banging on about here and on the Peel thread....why can't he simply say, for the WAFL's livelihood I hope Peel stand up and put in a strong show.....whilst not a home grown squad a talented one never the less....more talented than some apparently, as their fans aren't chewing on mothballs as yet like some of us are

Lets face it Freeze, whoever wins the comp is now a farce, no idea why people get so carried away with it.

The answer is quite simple Bazza. How many Freo players will be rested this week end and what will the impact be to "Peel"'s chances of winning a final against West Perth? If we did not have the host club alignment:

(i) would Peel have made the finals this year?

(ii) would there be the same impact to an individual WAFL team playing in the finals if Freo rest a significant number of players this week end?

Mate, Lyon will pull the same stunt he pulled last time they made the GF and rest about 10 players, I guess that means Peel will get sucked dry of talent and may well collapse in the finals.

As I said the whole comp is a farce the same could be said for EP.

The integrity of the WAFL has beem compromised since 1987.

Regarless it doesnt give SDFC SFFE EFFC or Perth anything to moan about WP Subi and Claremont were go enough to get up there.

Dont agree with your 2nd paragraph.. For a start dont really give FARK about the Dockers and Eagles..Hard to get TV ratings when they dont do all the games. EP making profits... yeh understandable when they dont pay out like the G7 CLUBS do with admin,players, Support staff etc etc.
I agree 2 GF being won by G7 CLUBS over Aligned clubs but the difference is the G7 clubs play as a team and as the old saying goes. A Team of champions will always beat a champion team. The G7 clubs play for each other and have a passion for their club something the Aligned teams will never have as they only play for themselves.

Best of luck in the finals - NOT Your success will depend on the AFL coaches and who they rest.. nothing more.

As much as I try not to comment abt the broader EP issues i think we have run at a profit for a much longer time that the current alignment process, hate the club all you like but at least try to be factual.

Lets face it Freeze, whoever wins the comp is now a farce, no idea why people get so carried away with it.Folk get çarried away'because deep down all of the contributors love the wafl and want it to be useful and successful'.

There is still a lot to like about WAFL football, the players you just love to hate, the teams you all hate but love it when the lose or your team beats them, the umpires who always do you team in when they lose but are ok when u win. Then there is the common enemy the Commission or is peel or the Ferals, perhaps it is Venues West and JCC, nah has to be TVW and STW.

The thing is no matter who plays in the finals at all levels, no matter who wins it will give us all something else to gnash out teeth about, whinge and whine like a plane load of poms and then ready for next year when Perth will be premiers, WP will move to kingsway, EF and SF will ground share and I will remember all 60 colts players at EP from day one!

Grump you are right: if we didn't care about the WAFL why would we bother? My problem is that what is going to happen on Sunday re Peel was forseeable and could easily have happened in the other final on Sunday as well. Further it will continue to occur in future years as well.

Also, as a suggestion perhaps "Peel"'s amd "East Perth"'s byes shouldn't coincide with their respective WA domiciled AFL team's bye(s) for next season.

Bazza you are right but perhaps something will change, I am always hopeful that it will and that we will see it get to much better point, never like the 26k wp\ep days but at least a crowds of 2.5k.

The good thing next year is that it will rate better than the politics in the country
