When the dockers moved in , the oval boundaries were realigned on the western side of the oval, I'm pretty sure they were moved a few meters wider, as a result the three rows of orange benches that once ran all the way around the western side of the ground were removed, unfortunately they were never replaced. The FCC , decided WAFL crowds were no longer big enough to justify re installation.

WAFC have clearly gone public and said they want EFFC to move to Freo, EF oval is a problem though it's A Class reserve and can't be sold off for housing. The council want to build a new rec centre there

there's no dough as yet - hope there comes the day though - ok?

The problem with the cars are fairly recent the car park has been there for about 60 yrs, up to say 15 yrs ago the entire car park would be closed Game Days, to allow for crowd standing room, as crowds shrunk the council found no need to close the car park, on top of that the club decided they might as well let players and officials park in there as well, I agree it looks like crap, but unless we go back to the days of 10 000 people every week , then there going to leave the cars there,

They didn't need to do it when 7 to 20 thousand people were turning up because these crowds gave the place atmosphere as people were on the boundary screaming and giving the atmosphere.

There are now ways to design grounds that provide and atmosphere with 2 to 3 thousand people in attendance.

The 2 to 3 thousand have to be on the fence. Not 50 meters back.

It can be done.

Fair dainkum mate , have you actually got a clue? As if they are going to spend a few million realigning a ground that has been that way for about 100 yrs just to keep a hand full of people who turn up every now and again, the point I made, re bigger crowds in the past was if they were getting 1000s of people every weekend there then maybe it might be viable to do , but even factoring that in as was the case in the past , it still wasn't thought about, the area in front of the grand stand is actually a council car park that they reap money from , a heap more than taken at the WAFL gate these days, there is no way they will give that up these days for a few hundred WAFL patrons...as anchorman said, in any case they re surfaced the ground about a decade ago, they won't be ripping it all up now, and exactly why you would spend a few hundred thousand dollars on it so that a few old fart sitting in the grandstand can get a closer view is mystery,

In terms of the bar no idea what your going on about there, anyone can walk straight into the former TAB bar area , that is open to all! only the rear area is reserved for members,

And yet on another post you reckon millions should be spent to increase the size of the WACA to accomodate WAFL footy!! :S
