They didn't need to do it when 7 to 20 thousand people were turning up because these crowds gave the place atmosphere as people were on the boundary screaming and giving the atmosphere.

There are now ways to design grounds that provide and atmosphere with 2 to 3 thousand people in attendance.

The 2 to 3 thousand have to be on the fence. Not 50 meters back.

It can be done.

Fair dainkum mate , have you actually got a clue? As if they are going to spend a few million realigning a ground that has been that way for about 100 yrs just to keep a hand full of people who turn up every now and again, the point I made, re bigger crowds in the past was if they were getting 1000s of people every weekend there then maybe it might be viable to do , but even factoring that in as was the case in the past , it still wasn't thought about, the area in front of the grand stand is actually a council car park that they reap money from , a heap more than taken at the WAFL gate these days, there is no way they will give that up these days for a few hundred WAFL patrons...as anchorman said, in any case they re surfaced the ground about a decade ago, they won't be ripping it all up now, and exactly why you would spend a few hundred thousand dollars on it so that a few old fart sitting in the grandstand can get a closer view is mystery,

In terms of the bar no idea what your going on about there, anyone can walk straight into the former TAB bar area , that is open to all! only the rear area is reserved for members,

Are you Anchorman and you Southerner telling me that Heritage would object to grass being moved from one place to another.

I understand that they wouldn't want to move the Grand stand, but that freo dockers slap up building could go and the cars could be moved out.

Southerner yes big dollars required. I have bandied about the 10 to 20 million amount.

Looking at the sort of money thrown at Claremont oval I don't see why Freo oval couldn't get 10 million especially if the WAFC and EF move there and Freo move out.

Players who train the house down in the WAFL deserve to see supporters as close to the playing surface as possible. Fans 50 meters away in a Stand or bar behind a sound proof window makes for no atmosphere.

This is the opportunity to do something about it while the WAFC and EF move are on the cards.

By the way I am not pushing the idea of EF moving from Shark Park. I have just heard other do that.

The situation at Claremont is entirely differnt about 90 % of the land at Claremont oval has been sold off for residential property , basically the entire outer will be houses! the remaining area will consist of a stand and small public area holding no more than 5000 people,

There is no chance freo being sold off in that manner, it's location etc doesn't suit it,

Now your saying the old dockers pavillion will be demolished...lol as if you would do that rather than move right it,

Yeah TFAF - the other problem will be a big gap on the scoreboard flanks then - so you would win then lose

Anchorman - the GEMBA consulting mob on behalf of FFC will be looking for 400K per year to lease that FFC building and the goss is that it will be split in the two levels
One at 250k per year & the other at 150K per year

It is solely why the WAFC is interested , they can then get EFFC in one of the levels

As I said Bazza there was no need to do it when the crowds were bigger as the atmosphere was there. It would be nice if people read replies. In regard the car park money. Remember my talk about a win for all parties involved. I tell you I wouldn't employ you for any sort of bargaining deal. You appear to throw your hands up in the air at the first stumbling block. There are ways to keep all parties happy.

For example if the State government put in 5 million into the development and the WAFC put in 2 or 3 million the council might say hey here's a chance to develop. Some of this 8 million could be used extend another near by car park or whatever. the point is it is not impossible to keep all parties happy. You seem to think it is.

Didn't know it was either EF or the WAFC. Sorry. Though I cant see why it couldn't be both.

I know Claremonts development is different and with no heritage problems but they still got 16 million.

Gees I hope the eagles don't stuff lathlain's viewing pleasure with buildings going off on completely different angles to the playing surface like it does at Fremantle oval.

Is it that you all think it would be nice but that it is unrealistic. Or is it you all think it is tickidy boo as is?

Oh yeah,,,if this if that , money grows on trees, your point about atmosphere holds bugger all water, if the stand was packed years ago, don't you think they would of wanted to keep them happy with better viewing? What financial sense is there now spending millions on a ground that is near empty for most games?...mate I would not employ you to make sound financial judgements on infrastructure spending in a million years.

Actually the preference is for both South & East to share the FFC building TFAF - that's what the City Of Fremantle wants

That would enable the Moss Street Oval to be swallowed up in the new Plympton precinct scene

On the extended parking thingo - just where do you think there's any available land in Freo mate ??????

It costs a squillion when it rarely comes on the market - if it does

TFAF we have wanted something major for a long long time mate .... I don't like the cars in there at all , it's cheap & commercial looking
there's no dough as yet - hope there comes the day though - ok?
