Is this the hottest summer on record in Perth and WA? I can't think of a more relentless summer here. It's nuts.

2021-22 apparently had 13 days where the maximum got over 40 so we havent got to that yet. Mind you theres still February to come and March is known for its occasional heatwave as well

Our climate is Mediterranean with mild winters. We have traditionally built double brick houses .To cool our houses down during the night.
Earths orbit is stable around the sun.The sun hasnt changed.Strangly the north pole is realigning.
Whats changing is trade winds and ocean currents.Causing massive problems in the Pacific ocean and Indian ocean to a lesser extent.
Whats strangs is +30 degree temperatures in the evening. With no south westerly, Fremantle Doctor. For at least half the days in January.Causing the relentless heat wave.
Are our summers changing to a sub tropical climate like Sydneys summers, hope not.

Very knowledgeable guys. Gee Mike we must be getting close to breaking the 21/22 record. I reckon we'll smash it.

Wasnt last weeks unusual humidity in Perth caused by the remnants of TC Sean in the Pilbara?
It happens from time to time in the cyclone season up north we get the flow on effects down here from any TC albeit not near as bad as up there.

Living in York just about an hour inland and we are looking at our 13th day of 40+ for January, we had 7 in December and 4 days over the old century in November
Water in the taps is luke warm all the time, most houses up here are framed of brick veneer, they heat up quick but lose their heat at night unlike double brick houses which hold the heat due to their thermal mass. Once you've had 3 days of around 40, a double brick house is just a heat box. Thank Huey we have a decent ACย
Apart from that York is a lovely place to live.

Yep no doubt played a factor in the heat and humidity. I took this screenshot last Saturday night at 10.07pm. 81% humidity. Unheard of for Perth.

We lived just out of York and I went to school there for my first 6 1/2 years. ย I take a drive back there now and then and one thing stands out to me. ย There are a few differences in the town of coarse, but basically thereโ€™s a lot of sameness to the 50โ€™sโ€ฆ..according to my memory. ย Summer temps were regularly in the 90โ€™s - 100 F, maybe that hasnโ€™t changed much.
