Olympics done n dusted for another 4 years. Aust sign off with a Silver fiesta over the last few days, unable to hit the 20 mark for Gold, which seemed feasible mid last week. 50 + medals in total, great effort, some expected, some not.

Talk of cricket being at the LA Olympics in 2028, I guess one way for India to win a gold. Hopefully the Breakdancing event will be canned, sadly Raygun's effort will be remembered long after the Aussie back to back featsĀ  in theĀ  Sailing and Swimming.

Cricket in - Breaking out Freeze....

Highlights to me Womens over all performance was outstanding, Water Polo Silver, heap of Gold Swimming, Gold and Silver in Athletics , Opals made a comeback with a Bronze.

Lowlights were , Hockey and Rowing , both had poorest results since 1956, and Matildas flopped badly.

Ch 9 coverage needs to lift, I hope LA gets sorted, also hope events are on a better times. I missed a heap due to late times.

Not sure how the hockey continues to get the funding it does.....under achieved for many a year now......the Dutch won both comps....as for the rowing, they split the awesome foursome from Tokyo and put 2 into the 8 and won neither.....

Men's Water Polp beat the eventual gold medalists in Serbia 8 - 3 in the prelims....yet died a death in their last 2 games to finish 7th or 8th. The Ladies beat the reigning gold medalists in the US and gor pipped by Spain in the final.

Yes Mate, agree on Hockey, Water Polo was our standout team performance, then Basketball with the Opals back in finals, The Boomers though are a long way off their peak finals appearances years back.

BA fucked up when they reappointed Brian Gorjian. Had they appointed Trevor Gleeson then Bryce Cotton would have got his Exceptional talent Visa and been part of the Boomers. Gorjian refused to guarantee Bryce Cotton would be in the starting 5 therefore BA withdrew their support for an Exceptional talent Visa. Assholes. You couldn't get a better human being to be welcomed in our country as an Australian citizen yet look at all the shit they let in. Something seriously wrong with our immigration policies.
