While you're at it McGoo how about going back to 3 year terms for elections? Probably Barnett's biggest cock up changing election terms from 3 years to 4. Most likely we have to put up with Marx McGowan for the next 7 years at least.

Two things,

yep I reckon Marky Mark is getting a bit big for the Dr Martins, going back on this is just wrong and silly,

having said that I do and have always thought that there is an in-balance in the weight given to the votes of different electorates (and yes that is down to my being an ABC listener and supporter). There is always a need for electoral change but breaking your word is unforgivable.

It's quite disgraceful, this should of been front and center as an issue at the last election and he really should of had a referendum to decide it.

Labor proving once again what ever it takes to get power.

That suits them as they can shaft regional WA, close timber down, suck money out of wheat belt roads, ignore the Pilbara despite it paying for the entire show.

The upper house it supposed to act as safe guard for a very vast and diverse State.

I see these clowns are up to it again.

I get chopper rides to parties every weekend with cashed up business folks like Quigs.

Bazz they will just ignore it as they believe they are not accountable for anything. The fact that the states leading law officer accepts a free ride ($2k worth) from someone closely connected to the Crown investigation is not a good look, no transparency, so the public is left to wonder what Poyton wanted from providing this gift. This so called Labour party is so far up the big end of towns arse it's laughable, they are all clamouring for favours that will set them up for cushy company board positions after they have finished parliament. A real labour party would have nothing to do with these people. Does it remind you of the early days of WA inc, thats where it's heading.

And politicians will not be accountable if ICAC is stripped of any more investigative powers. The organisation's NSW commissioner and now in South Australia have had new laws just passed stripping ICAC. What amazes me is the speed at which the bill flew through parliament. And one needs to ask why?
