Just reading the article on the budget outcomes and WA now has nearly a $6 billion surplus, so what does our Emperor do?
He starts in on the other states, poking his tongue at them and going nyer nyer we've got lots and you haven't, how good are we coz we have vast deposits of minerals and you dont (an accident of geography and thats all) Absolutely purile stuff and an embarresment. The surplus is almost entirely on the back of record iron ore and other commodity prices that have seen massive royalties pouring into the revenue bin, plus almost a complete lack of spending on social housing and health. FMD I could come up with a big surplus in the current conditions and I struggle with my own books!!

Covid for WA has been easy to manage compared to other states. We are so isolated, we have 2 major road crossings and 1 major airport. Have a look at the borders between Vic & NSW and NSW and Qld, multiple airports, and hundreds of major road crossings. Thats not to say that NSW and Vic in particular have handled it well, Gold Standard Gladys is right up there in the incompetence stakes, at least Covid Dan has learnt from his mistakes and if not for that single infected traveller that came in from New South Covid they would not be in lockdown with 100's of cases.

McGoo needs to thank his lucky stars he lives where he lives and as premier, he should take a moment to reflect on that and on his actions and words, it shows a level of arrogance that is way beyond anything we have seen in recent premiers including Barnett.

He can pat himself on the back all he likes and deride others as well but the day is fast arriving when Covid will be under control and the iron ore royalties will go back to previous levels and McGoo and his mates will actually have to start governing. I reckon it's only about 12 months before the gloss wears off and we start to see the cracks appearing because basically the likes of Cook, Saffioti, Ellery, MacTiernan, Papalia, McGurk and so on are all hopeless. You only have to look at the state of our health system, the increase in homelessness, Northbridge after dark to realise there's something wrong with the people driving this place. The rabble that is the opposition don't need to do anything other than sit back and watch it all unravel before their eyes. McGoo has been kissed on the co*k but his resulting erection won't last forever.

BC I have to give McGhoo credit for keeping covid out and hence keeping the states mining industry rolling , a covid riden state could not have mined all through this shambles. Another thing is he has really pushed ahead on approvals for new projects, which is not happening with left wing parties over east, by the looks of it Woodside Pluto/Scarborough expansion and the new Nitrogen Plant on the Burrup are looking good for a start up next year, thats well over 3500 jobs, but that wont happen without free movement of workers from the East so he needs to get a plan to open up borders before that, Vaccination of workers the way to go, but imagine a Delta outbreak on the Burrup, good night irene.

As for the others in the cabinet, yep dud city, cannot hack Cook the health system is a shambles, he was gifted some of the best new hospitals in the country from Barnett yet still stuffed it up, and how much longer are they going to delay the new womens hospital? Papalia is a up himself goose, useless tourist minister and has now left the cops looking directionless with no commissioner while violent crime runs rampant in the CBD, WAPOL for mine is a shambles with more bosses than troops all on a gravy train, Dawson reckons flying the Aboriginal Flag at every station and giving an apology would solve the problems while Yagan Square ( appropriate name really) turns into a bash fest.

Mctiernan barely knows what day it is, and its a sad indictement shes still raking in MPs cash.

You left out Quigley and his shambolic Crown Royal commissioner, some of his recent judicial appointments leave no question that they are purely political left wing picks I can tell you that.

Cannot disagree with most of what is said other than to say at least the budget is working on a forecast price of $60us per tonne rather than the $120us per that barnett worked on even when it fell to $75 per.

The trouble with any left wing government is that the gene pool is limited via the union involvement as opposed to the limited gene pool the libs have with the christian right being the big influence these days.

Exactly. We heard him say voting reform would not happen if Labor won the state election. When asked by a rural reporter, the premier stated the question had been answered many times previously. " Let me be clear. Regional representation will continue".  Not unless he has now "forgot" he said it?

With little or no regional representation it'll no longer be the House of Review...it'll be the House of the Rubber Stamp.

Phark the Pilbara and the wheatbelt, the midwest, the great Southern and Kimberly which drives the state and national economies. Lets just look after the left handed lgbtif, BLM, tree-hugging minorities who live in the metro area. Instead of these grand announcements that smacks of a gerrymander, why not use more of the massive budget surplus to fix the disaster that is the health system and implement a proper social housing programme, both would sit comfortably within a normal left of centre labour Parties platform, but McGoo's empire is definitely not left of centre. He loves the big end of town, they can do more to secure his future than some struggling exhausted front line health worker who's just finished their latest double shift.
