I would like to see Brian Dawson back at the helm for a year or two in a Paul Roo's type role with a succession plan gradually handing over to a new coach. I'm not sure if he would be available or interested but if this happened I would be delighted because unlike the current guy, he is a proven coach and he bleeds black and white.

I feel for you guys I really do and, I’m sorry, but I had dealings with your coach when he was the ressies coach at pfc and when he was appointed I thought that whoever was involved in his appointment had to be incompetent.

I think the problems at Swans started when Harding was coach. As BH has said the team has fallen away at the end of the season every year since 2010.Pickering is only one piece in the jigsaw but the way that he has coached and the way Swans have fallen off the cliff this year have brought the other problems in the club into sharp focus. I don't think that Pickering can continue and if they have re-signed him for another 2 years they won't be using my membership money to pay his salary.

That is far beyond not good enough and there needs to be changes afoot!

Also I reckon Gault's form has dropped off markedly with Doc being out of the side.

The workload on all the senior players is to heavy.

Since start of 2016 Swans average only 66 points per game, the lowest out of every club and only EF (and WCE obviously) have won less games, with the Sharks the only team with a lower win/loss percentage.

Win % (since 2016)
88.6% Subiaco (70-9 : 98.06 points per game)
69.1% SF (56-25 : 95.69 ppt)
54.4% Peel (43-36 : 73.25 ppg)
54.4% WP (43-36 : 79.19 ppg)
47.3% Claremont (35-39 : 80.39 ppg )
43.2% EP (32-42 : 74.82 ppg)
42.3% WCE (6-8 : 67.86 ppg)
34.7% Perth (25-47 : 71.81 ppg)
28.8% Swans (21-53 : 66.24 ppg)
25.0% EF (18-54 : 67.19 ppg)

V interesting reading.

If I was a swans supporter my biggest concern now would be other clubs circling around the likes of Gault and ‘Doc’.

very depressing reading Ric. If you took the 2017 season out when we somehow made the finals, the record for the 2016, 2018 and 2019 season is an abysmal10 wins and around 42 losses so less than 20 % and probably the average score goes down to around 60.

Well said .....Incompetent and above scrutiny which is exactly why we are where we are today.

to pin it all on the coach is not entirely fair i would have thought.
he had us in a decent position mid way through last year until we ran out of gas and he had us competitive in most games this year and we were leading Subi by 16 points at 3/4 time early this year.
our best is good enough, we just dont have the depth of quality players and he hasnt adjusted our game plan to factor in the change of personnel.
the Perth bloke who spends more time complaining here about the coach than he does talking about his own club has a beef with him, who cares about his opinion.
the football manager should be the first to go in any moves at the club.

That might be a fair comment MO and certainly not all Pickerings fault but I guess the buck has to stop somewhere and as senior coach it inevitably falls on his shoulders.
Currently our skill level is as piss poor as I have seen, decision making is poor, the fitness is lacking compared to the other clubs....I could go on and on and if I were coach I would be ashamed of the skill level currently so work on that before anything else and maybe some confidence can be gained from improvement as currently we have none whatsoever and it shows in their body language and complete lack of talk both on the field and at the breaks.
If we are incapable of fulfilling the game plan then it should be simplified and or disposed of and just work on basics for the rest of the season.
And can we just play our best League ready 22 for the next 4 weeks, leave the Colts boys in the Colts and give the boys currently playing Reserves an incentive to push for and something to work towards next year over the Summer!
