We certainly don’t have the skill level for the current game plan !
Some of the selections are baffling at the moment - get Wilson and Farrant in as they at least have some skill and get the Doc back in the ruck, he was out of form but he at least plays for the jumper

I think I can pick the moment that Pickering lost the players. Up to the round 9 game v Claremont, Swans had been competitive in most games including being 20 points ahead of Subiaco in the 3rd quarter which was a great effort. A number of "honourable losses" early in the season. Then in the round 9 game we took it up to Claremont in the first 3 quarters and were only a point down at the last change. Then the Tigers blew us away in the last quarter.
In the five games since then, Swans combined losing margin has been 255 points and more tellingly in those 5 games we have only scored 27 goals. Gee I wish I hadnt complained about the honourable losses, I would certainly take one now.
I am baffled with the way Doc has been treated. Surely he is worthy of a spot in the best 22. I can only think that they are trying to qualify him, Reidy and Mitchell Bain for the reserves finals in case they make it.

What puzzles me about Swans is how they are currently travelling.
Everything seems to have started falling apart after week 7.
They won 2 matches out of the first 7 and were doing an average of 31 Ball Disposals / Goal, whilst scoring 67 Goals. The next 7 matches see Swans performing on average 63 Disposals / Goal and scoring 45 Goals. In the first 7 matches the attack rate of Swans averaging 23 and a ½ % which was above the league average. Then the following 7 matches saw the average attack rate deteriorate to 15%. Those figures surely would be a concern. Also Swans confidence would currently be at a real low too. They just need to play out the remainder of the season like they playing up until things went pear shaped. If they can do that, they can finish the season with confidence for next season.

Since half time of the Swans/East Perth game we have kicked a total of 6 goals 29 points in 10 quarters of football. That works out to just over 6 points a quarter. Must be close to a record low for the club.

6 goals and 29 points in 2 and a half games is absolutely pathetic RUS.
Without even looking up the stats on waflfootyfacts I reckon we would have scored 6 or so of our all time lowest scores in the last 3 years 2016-2019 and as one who has banged on forever about the good ol days of the late 70s/early 80s high scoring games these results are a complete and utter disgrace!

Mark Olsen is on the money here. Our list can not implement our current game plan.Like Freo+PortAdelaide in the AFL it just burns out the players 2\3 of the way through the season.ít may of made us competitive early in the season. But our opponents now know if they hit the scoreboard Swans are cheque mate.
The WP loss a month ago at home should of been the trigger to change things. And our last competitive game was 5 weeks ago on Wa day at Lachlain.Hope we hit rock bottom yesterday but wouldn't bet on that. This is just Swans in a nutshell.

GTR when was the last year Swans actually finished a season off well and gave their supporters some hope for the next season?

All I can remember (since 2010) are second half of the season capitulations!

BH it was mentioned in this thread already. We need Swans people at the club. It's almost impossible now in this competition to keep a side together over a few seasons. So all the work we put into these young players is a waste. At least 5 will depart the club over the summer.
The Wafl has to be protected by the wafc+Afl to be this states no 2 competition. The walkout of players 100 game + big body players. Is really hurting our club and competition.

GTR at present since the mid way point of last season against CL we have played 24 games and won only 3 of those and we will not win another game this season so will finish the year at 3 wins and 25 losses from our last 28 games.
That is far beyond not good enough and there needs to be changes afoot!

Also I reckon Gault's form has dropped off markedly with Doc being out of the side.

The spray Pickering delivered at Half time could be heard from fishing boat harbour to the car park of the old prison and probably woke up half the patients in the Hospital as well.
Harding in his dying days as coach also resorted to those tactics, yell and perhaps they might listen.
When a coach has to resort to yelling as the only way to try and get his message across, you know they have lost it and the players as well.
You can go to the extreme end of the scale like Peter Wilson did and get nowhere or the polar opposite in Phil Cronin and still get nowhere.
The balance is in the middle, firm but in control, like Brian Dawson or Geoff Valentine ( who should be our coach) or my favourite Steve Turner.
Even Toddy mellowed by 1990 when he realised that fire and brimstone speeches should be left to the likes of the hot Gospel preachers seen on TV
Time to look elsewhere, this bloke doesn't have what it takes. No plan B or c or D and when the players at your disposal don't have the nouse or ability to carry out a game plan you saw on telly, then yelling isn't going to change anything.
Lets have a simple game plan using what we have, we might not win games in the interim, but anything would be better than crap being dished up at the moment.
