Don't get me wrong Beas the tackle was great and I loved it buutttt it was an old school tackle he drove his head into the deck at the end and he will go for sure. My problem is with the dick head maggot who gave him the free whilst Hoskins was in all sorts of trouble in the midst of being stretchered

I watched Harding's sum up of the game last night and he seemed to suggest that Dave Ellard may need another week to get over his injury, pity because he would be very handy next week. Great to see some of the reserves boys putting some pressure on with their winning effort. Freddie could be back next week to front up against his old team.

WTF? The game has gone soft, the risk is ppl get hurt playing Aussie rules but the fuckheads who run it are making it risk free which means eventually non contact its a joke, nothing wrong with the tackle from my vantage point
Finally I was completely confused by the umpiring all day, one example was their interpretation of when to recall centre bounces. There was one which went off at an angle straight to the Subi ruckman who tapped it straight to Cockie. This one wasn't recalled whereas another one which went straight up and only Gault went for it was stopped??

mike I think it was Riggio and he'll be in a bit of strife as it was a clear sling tackle which resulted in Hoskins being badly concussed. It's a shame as for mine Riggio is a ball player but the rules are there to protect players heads and he transgressed.

Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

SD...I agree with the bounce down recalls. Why they don't just throw the thing up at every restart I'll never know. It'll take the whole recall issue away completely and making sure it bounces straight up will be one less thing the umpies have to worry about.

Not sure BH but our player was booked for the incident. The Riggio/Hoskins one is likely to be refereed to the match review by all accounts. These days when a player gets bumped or tackled and results in a knock to the head then they usually go in the book. Classic was in the ressies when the Subi lad gave what from where I sat, looked like a big fair hip and shoulder to one of yours but as the lad went down he hit the ground pretty hard and took 20-30 secs to get back up, the Subi bloke went straight in the book. Just want to see some consistency. Don't know what you thought about the ressies umpiring, I thought the umps completely lost control in the second half. Not to be sexist but the lass that was one of the umps looked a bit flustered and unsure at times. I hope she can get some good guidance and learn from the experience as should the other 2 umps.

Riggio is listed on the reports section on the WAFL website so I assume it has already been referred to the tribunal. Also Jackson has been listed for rough conduct on Banfield but he was reported on the day apparently. Given that Hoskins was concussed I would say Matt will go for a week. He has a fairly clean record I think. Interestingly the 2 reports from the reserves game were withdrawn for some reason.

The hit on Wityk in the reserves was a clean bump and damage was done when he hit the ground from what I saw so not surprised it was withdrawn

I best not post what I thought of the umpiring in the Reserves SS I might leave it up to 42 to surmise but the fact we had only 2 free kicks up to the half way mark of the 3rd qtr despite leading comfortably was remarkable in itself...and the lass I dont think gave us 1 for the whole game! :S
