you're both wrong....i'm pretty sure the S&C guy at subi was with Perth for a while.... players don't get to a certain level of fitness without a culture of excellence, hard work and dedication...unless you play for Essendon of course. any club can get their players to lift their conditioning to a standard above every one else just like your ordinary average joe...it doesn't take money just an ethos of improvement.

Yes,this is why I dislike it when certain people whom run Subi get on the TV and start spoutting about professionalism.

yeah but the thing is AR when players from other clubs come to Subi they say the same thing. the level of professionalism, support from within Subi and expectations are far different to their original club. I recall someone a few years ago a player from another club was astounded at the number of trainers and support staff at training sessions...he said twice as his original club and remembering they're all volunteers and not paid it does make you think.

BC remember the champion Claremont side dropped 2 games in 1981.In 1987 another great Cmont side had 1 draw v Subi.SF might of done similar in the 1950'.So far Subi 2017 has only dropped one game.So this team is up there as one of the most dominant sides in Wafl history.Having said that still support your mob against Peel and EP.

BC: I know what you mean about Subi's ethos, having heard similar stories to yourself. The professional attitude of the club as a whole is beyond dispute. There are two reasons why Subi has been able to take a hardline position on player discipline: a reasonable zone and money. In other words where in the lucky position to be able to boot players out if they dont' follow the strict ethos.

The pther clubs -- with the possible exception of Claremont -- do not have that option.

that may be true gtr...but at days end it might not count for too much at all given WART and FART both have around 17 players qualified....so it could be the 2 aligned clubs playing off in the GF based on what we saw in the finals series last year.

I sill believe that Subi in the 16 GF played ok.But could off played better that day and beaten Peel. You played the same way today as you did in the GF last year.Good but not great missed 7 or 8 easy goals today.

Gtrxuone, Senior Seagull reminded me of the dominant 2008 Subiaco side which only lost 1 game all season which was by 1 point to Swans at Bassendean. The two sides played off in the Grand final that year and the Subiaco team included players such as the current Subiaco coach,Brad Smith ( who kicked 6 goals), Phil Read, Daniel Chick, Ali Pickett, Daniel Rich, Kyal Horsley, Adam Cockie, Greg Broughton etc etc. They were a star studded combination and the Swans team wasn't too shabby either with Nic Nat, Chris Yarran, Jeff Garlett, Shane Beros, Josh Roberts, Brett Robinson, Tim Geappen, Tony Notte amongst others. When you look at these teams from 9 years ago it lays bare how much the WAFL has fallen away in the past 5 or 6 years.

I don't agree mike...in 10 years time we might be having this same conversation about young kids who have become very good players and played for Subi and SD today. some of your youngsters and some of ours might become AFL regulars or WAFL champions over the few years ...who knows? it's a moving feast and how it all pans out is anyone's guess depending on how players develop.
