1. Monaghan - but surely not happening
2. Cooper - most experience and credentialed of candidates
3. Armstrong - not sure what the negative chat is about, he's done a fair bit, been to 2 AFL clubs, state 18s, etc
4. Luke Dwyer - should be higher but don't think he is available.

Pickering seems to be an assumed coach in waiting but most people not sold. Whispers are that Cooper is out. Stavros is a legend but isn't the man. Maskos from SF was never thrown up but ran second to Curley. Michael Broadbride would have been fantastic but left Claremont with work commitments. Geoff Valentine was a good option but not sure he wanted to leave his post under Harris.

Should be announced next week ?

Is John Laurito in the mix? He's been inner circle in the coaches box for at least a few years now? A smokie perhaps.

Played under John wouldn't be the worsed choice.

Dare one ask who the worst choice would be?

What I should of said was he would be a good choice imo, I wouldn't have a clue who you're other candidates are.

I played with him at one stage for a few games. Remember a booming kick from inside the square that sailed through for a major and thought 'wow, where did we find this guy'.
Do not know much of him as a coach but have had many a word with him over the years and comes across as a real decent fella, a good man. Have met quite a few kids he has helped over the years and all speak highly of him.
