How long is a piece of string really?. Very subjective this mark of the year stuff, not always about who got highest. ;) . or was it length that wasn't important :silly:

Anyway, Bennells was a brilliant effort given the situation of the game and the ultimate impact on the outcome of the contest.

Not taking anything away from Saunders or Ryan, both brilliant marks.

The exciting thing about Liam is he does it every week, why wouldn't you want to go to the WAFL to stars like all of the above mentioned players.

The early bye gives the coaching staff and players the opportunity to reflect on this fantastic start. I don't think even the most optimistic Swans fan would have anticipated a 3-0 record at this stage.

Also gives an opportunity for a bit of perspective in that its only just all begun in a season that is promising a very close race. There are still 17 games to go and many difficult challenges lie ahead. History is littered with teams that start like a house on fire and fade away later in the season.

The early wins give Swans a bit of an insurance policy against loss of form and injuries when the winter really bites, but we can't afford to get ahead of ourselves. The good thing is that we will stay in the finals hunt for a lot longer than 2016, when our season was effectively done and dusted by round 7.

Important to keep the focus totally on the next match against the Sharks on Easter Saturday and try and get to 4-0. EF haven't started well but if they can beat Perth at Lathlain on Saturday they will be a lot more formidable the week after.

I read somewhere that Xavier Ellis may have a broken jaw from Saturdays game? Can anyone confirm?

Can't confirm mike but I wouldn't be surprised after looking at the shape of his noggin post-match...nasty looking even considering it was X

Tony Notte takes the prize!
We need a statue of this classic hanger out the front of our historic entry gates.
