Yep contrary to my previous post Newman not training. Dud info from old mate. We've lost a couple in the past week by the sounds of things.

Where is Rudy?

Lol Good one DW!

This info is on the money right? Yarran did win the 2km trial ???

I was thinking the same thing when I read that post DW.
If Yarran is even fifty percent fit he will be the best player in the wafl by 250 percent!
Swans premiership chances fluctuate wildly on the status of this bloke
There's a part of me as a footy follower and especially wafl follower wanting to see this bloke fit and firing for swans this season but a part of me as a Claremont supporter hoping he doesn't even play a game for yas!

Is this Swans best 22 at full strength? I must admit I am salivating at the prospect of this team running onto the ground

B UGLE AMES PEARCE
HB BENNELL NOTTE HOWARD
C TURNER BLIGHT ELLIS
HF ELLARD NUICH ROGERS
F YARRAN GAULT BANFIELD
R YUKICH CROWLEY RIGGIO
I/C CARY FAULKNER WATSON CLUTTERBUCK

I am making an assumption that Yarran will play and that is obviously still up in the air but he would be very handy in a forward line that may be struggling to kick enough goals to win games. Also there will be a lot of good players who were regulars last year but not in this team so that will set up a bit of competition for places which wasn't there in 2016.There is also Levi Ridley who is back as well as the Daniel's brothers who were out of the picture last year and will no doubt get a look in at some stage
Is there anyone I've forgotten? I would have put Rudy on the bench but someone mentioned that he wasn't at training at the moment. The big man department looks a bit light on so no doubt Houghton will be useful as the season goes on.
Given a fair run with injuries I think Swans can be in the hunt for a spot in the top 5. A lot depends on how the team gels with the experienced and younger players.

Is Doc Blakely playing mikeh or has he given footy up for his career? Sorry, I'm not up to date if that decision has been made. Pretty solid side on paper. I can imagine Clancy will play midfield at this level or half back. He is only mid 20's and still has a bit of petrol in the tank. Hope your are right about Blighty, would love to see him have an injury free run at it. Some strong competition for your spot in the league side bodes well for 2017..... bring it on

Thank god you guys have ready made replacements on the bench in Faulkner and Freddie, for when Blight and Ellis get injured before half time.....Clancee in a back pocket?......interesting indeed.....fingers crossed Gault kicks a few for the team this year............goals that is.

I just plonked Clancee in the back pocket to fit him into the 22 really. In reality he will spend most of his time in the midfield, providing that physical presence that Swans lacked so much in 2016. Harding has lots of options in terms of players to rotate through the midfield.

No idea DW. He is not on the team list on the website but that doesn't mean that he wont play. Would be a great asset if he decides to go around.
