Well done to the Colts boys for their 4 point win over the previously undefeated Perth. A great start to the day for the Black Ducks!

Looks like a good crowd is in although it's junior parade day and these kids and parents aren't counted through the gate.

I'm sure the Junior crowds have been counted in attendance figures before, but not necessarily officially Everytime.

Nope, never have. Surely you've seen the big crowd of kids and parents gathered outside the gate before the exit gates are opened and they're allowed in. They are not counted.

No other way of putting this. An abysmal performance by the team today. Embarrassed themselves in front of a state wide TV audience. It took a "vein in neck bulging" expletive driven tirade at quarter time from Harding to drive Swans to play their only decent quarter (the 2nd). Most of them just didn't look interested for the rest of the game. Again much of the lack of effort and poor skills is coming from the Senior players rather than the young blokes. After half time Perth were allowed to run around and do what they liked. The Demons would have won by 80 or 90 points if they had kicked straight. 1 goal 3 in a half of footy is just not good enough. Senior players like Rogers, Banfield, Jetta, Notte and Jukes had very little influence today and need to contribute more while the team is in transition.

The only positive I can take from today is debutant Brandon Erceg who showed a lot more poise and skill than many of his more experienced mates. I think Swans have unearthed a good one there.

Harding and his assistants have got a couple of weeks respite now before the next game at Mandurah to try and work out how they are going to develop some competitiveness in this team. The next win looks a long way off at the moment.

Around 2500 I reckon Bazza. It was bolstered by the Junior clubs having their day out. At least there was a bit of atmosphere which has been sadly lacking at Bassendean this year. Both stands were 3 quarters full which was good to see.
