I thought we were a better side with Houghton in last season. He had a knack of finding a goal when we needed one but when it came to the crunch In the important last few rounds Harding and co never selected him. Can't blame a bloke for leaving if he feels the coach has no faith in him

I'm with DW,Houghton was more than handy last year! He is another player gone that we can't rely on for some depth this year. Add him to Davis,Broad,Blakely and that's 4 gone and a pretty important 4. We've also lost Nelson,Ross and Mckay from ressies just to name a few. Unfortunately the replacements in Jetta,Clutterbuck and Newman aren't in the same ilk and that's no disrespect to Jetta but I think he may be past his best.

The worst thing about yesterday was that I thought the effort wasn't too bad,we were just totally outclassed and decision making poor. Time in foward half must have been 15%-85%.

Just have to get back to playing 1 on 1 for a start.

What happened to Dylan Nelson, Mad Dog? I thought he played well last year with limited opportunities, but for some reason he seemed to be the one dropped when Swans lost. I thought he had a lot of potential as a forward and he would have been very handy this year IMO. Do you know if he has gone to another club ( ammo's) or has he given up footy altogether?

I too was sorry to see Houghton go. I thought he was a very handy utility player last year.

I believe he's playing at Ellenbrook

Ames supposedly has a slight strain but he was in slacks by half time so doubt he will be up for next week but he thinks he will be.

We would've lost by 15+ goals today if it was dry, totally outclassed.

I thought it was a bad move to play a spare in the 1at quarter! Every time we went Foward we were outnumbered. Maybe it was evidence even outer coach thought we were up against it.

That's harsh Mad Dog, The Town of Vincent have left no stone unturned in their commitment to footy by the installation of the new elec scoreboard, its at least 2m2 bigger than the old one :(

Agree with you re Nelson Swandog...unlike Houghton there is a fair chance he would have seen plenty of game time this year after an encouraging end to his 2015 season.

Didnt the Town of Bassendean announce a major residential redevelopment of Basso Oval, I would doubt they would install anything new until after that has been sorted, most of the outter will be houses.

I've absolutely no drama with these guys leaving to play at a lower level for some cash. It's an extremely hard grind if you're not an established league player, especially when you're playing good footy and not getting picked. Even more so when the AFL dream may have disappeared!

I'd love for Nelson to still be at Swans but some blokes just don't have that commitment and I don't think we should have a crack at anyone for that. At least he hasn't committed and then gone walkabout!
