No Ames Howard Blight and Newman yesterday, Rudy played reserves and looked short of a run.
Logue and Clarke who are still colts played well in league.
Subi's mids were too good and were missing Robbo, Cockie and Horsley so we may sneak a win against them during the year but their best looks too good for us.
We will be competitive on our day with most teams.
Clutterbuck was runner and they need his experience

No real surprises mate Colts boys Logue & Clarke played again and did pretty well again, Fletcher showed a bit up forward, and the highlight of the day Faulky hit a bloke in our forward 50 lace out on his left just for you DW ;)
A fair few regulars missing like Ames, Howard, Newman, Blight, Riddoch, Houghton, Kirkup et al plus Riggs, Jetts, Simmo headed inside for an early shower in the last qtr.

Where did the 2 colts boys line up BH? Faulks using his left might be a solution :P

As we have reached the half way point of the season it is interesting when looking back now on MD's best 22 plus those players that just missed out posted above before the start of the season which most of us thought was about the mark and reasonably competitive with a few other boys names added afterwards by other Swans fans and which players are now missing for various reasons be it injury, illness or other???
From yesterdays squad that took the field in both the League & Reserves missing from our original squad were-

Kirkup
Blight
Elari
Ugle
Houghton
Ames
Nuich
Coniglio
Newman
Daniels
Blakely
Ridley
Anderson
Kohlmann
Nelson
Taylor

We can also add young fellas who have shown promise this season in Hackett & Sutton who were not on the initial names but are currently injured (also not including any of the State 18s boys) and it is a remarkable turnover in only 10 games of footy!

And that's pretty much what I mentioned in the other thread - it's just put too much pressure on the remaining players to both win games & educate the younger blokes coming through as would normally happen during a season mate

Yes that is true Southy and some of our promising young blokes have struggled with the step up to League footy at this early stage of their development to be honest but that can happen with young blokes but our mid range players have also gone backwards in form this year quite alarmingly actually as I can't think of anyone who has actually improved this year from last.
But gee it has been a astonishing list turnover so far we must have played over 40 players already this year at only the half way mark and will be a fair few more unless we show some semblance of improvement where we are at least competitive for 4 qtrs again!

I am hoping that Harding can get them up for a big effort next Monday against Perth BH. This is their real chance for a victory but they will have to play a lot better than they have been in recent weeks. After this game, the opportunities for victories may be few and far between with them playing Subiaco and the two alignment teams after a double bye ( State game included)
