come on BH - every WAFL club bar Swans is perfect, they just love running over to Swans forums to tell us how bad we are.

I wonder if Barney has contacted Tommy B yet, he seemed very concerned about social responsibility this morning.

that post referred to an EP board member and future player.

the Subi and South reference is in regards to Yarran and M.Pickett.

All teams have had problems with off field incidents, nothing will ever stop that.

The good teams look after their own and help them through their problems, they don't leave them on their own in their hour of need. Swans earned plenty of brownie points with the community leadership they showed with Krakouer. They earned more when it looked like they were doing the same with Garlett but pissed that all up against the wall when they turned their back on him.

Part of the club until we get $38K out of you then your on your own. Wonder if some of the Swan juniors realise that today?

Barney - you still seemed very concerned with this, I take it you rang Tommy B ?
surely you will take the social responsibility to help out yourself and not just post on here otherwise i would think you were just having a whinge ?

I think that is very sad that a young man has gone off the rails to the extent that Dayle obviously has.

I also think that some people who have posted here need to have a good hard look at themselves, using this unfortunate situation to have cheap shots at other players and clubs. I just think the level of debate needs to be better than what is demonstrated here. We all know that football players come from a variety of backgrounds and like other people in the community there are going to be a certain number who will run foul of the law for various reasons. There are many factors that feed into this but some basic principles apply here.

1. people are innocent until proven guilty
2. people deserve a second chance if they have transgressed and are willing to do so.

Did you go to Belmont High as well? Why would I want to ring Swan Districts Football Club? I am not a memeber of the club, not a supporter of the club. So why would I ring him?

Instead I might ring my own club and congratulate them again for the work they do in the community and for being a team that players can trust will be there for them when they need help.

well you seemed concerned enough to post on the Swans forum about what they should do, I thought that indicated you had an actual interest in the situation.

I didnt realise that your interest didnt extend beyond a post on a Swans forum, i thought otherwise when you started talking about social responsibility and thought you were going to show some social responsibility yourself and ring Swans with an offer to help out..

so you wernt actually concerned after all, glad we got that cleared up :)

Barney says "A team that players can trust will be there for them when they need help" ...all except that former subi half back who played 41 games and went right off the rails! :S

Mike fair call and I was going to keep away from this subject completely but when a few mindless individuals from other clubs start having pot shots at the SDFC for the behaviour of a former player without doing any background checks on their own current and former players I thought I might enlighten them to do so first before throwing their stones!

Totally understand your point BH. I just think someone has to make a decision at some stage to raise the level of debate and recognise when a poster is just making a provocative comment to get a response like it has in this case. The best way to deal with trolls is to call them, then ignore them and there is every chance they will go away. This tit for tat club banter is usually OK but when we are talking about someone who is facing serious criminal charges there needs to be some caution used when throwing mud

I totally agree with MikeH for his above mentioned reasons, and ask everyone to take note.
