Them sounds like fighting words

And they proved 100% correct against a side with an abundance of AFL listed players, time the comp showed us some respect

Was at the game so never saw the ABC coverage but I believe a very arrogant Cam Sheppard said at three quarter time there will be no excuses Peel will just win.

Wonderful display by the boys against a side with a lot more skill level on paper. The last two weeks have demonstrated to me how much spirit is in this side and there is a even mix between experienced players and young guys trying to make a mark. What about young Ricky Cary, what an outstanding game, everyone contributed though and we absolutely blew them off the ground after half time.

Only one Swans player got less than 10 possessions today and that showed what a great team performance it was. I'm sure Harding would be excited about these guys because they are all showing that they want to play for SDFC and there are no gold diggers in the team anymore.

Peel looked bewildered in the 2nd half, I'm sure they thought that they had the game under control at the long break but the only reason they had the upper hand was because of the contribution of their Dockers players including a Swans premiership player who ended up with 39 possessions. There was little else apart from Clancee, Moribito, Clarke and Sylvia and they were exposed as a complete shambles when the pressure was put on them. Unlike East Perth they do not have a core of WAFL players to support the AFL guys and I reckon they will still struggle this year, especially if Freo continue to get injuries.

The good thing from Swans point of view is that all 3 grades won today as well, can't remember the last time that this happened, so maybe there is some depth developing in the club.

Overall a great day for the Black Ducks. Can't remember feeling this happy about their commitment and performance since the 2010 Grand Final :cheer:

Despite winning in all three grades we obviously fall down on teaching our players the rules with the total free kick count in the three games 36 for and 56 against. The league had the best of that with 14 for and 16 against. Not saying that most weren't deserved but there is big disparity.

Also good to see Jesse Manton and others playing well in the ressies which keeps the pressure on for league places

I now believe Sheppard may have been alluding to his depleted bench with three carrying injuries when he said that there will be no excuses so he may have been hanging tough rather than being arrogant.

Hopefully FART get fined the maximum for bringing in those Freo players as late changes out of their named squad of 25 (Zac Clarke, Clancee etc) as I am certain if it was Swans who brought in players from outside the named squad of 25 we would be fined!!

When u drop the old boy off at home blind drunk and spruiking today's game as the "best fkn game I fkn seen since the fkn eagles beat fkn Sydney in fkn 2006" to his clearly not so impressed wife you soon remember what it is ya love about the footy. Couple that up with the grand ole boy out on the members balcony who was wearing the McNair 90 jacket whose genuine excitement towards the 2 fisherman's baskets he proudly waved in our faces after half time could only be topped by his final siren celebration as he stood bolt upright in his chair with 2 fists clenched pointing to the sky screaming "Swannies" like his life depended on it and I'm a happy little black duck tonight all the better for heading down to Basso today.

Pity about the small crowd in attendance, lets hope with the passion the players & dare i say it coaching staff displayed today the numbers will improve. Super impressive input from the little fellas today. Faulkner, Elari, Ugle great stuff. #69 Carey 8 goals in a break out game for him was simply superb all day and never stopped providing a target. Such was his presence up forward will be interesting to see if Swoop gets the number one defender in coming weeks. Tallen's first half shouldn't be understated. Could have been in a lot more trouble at half time if not for him consistently winning one on one battles on the last line against the flow. Loved the 3qtr time speech of Harding. If the players won't find something extra kicking in to a 5 goal breeze in the last qtr for the spectators over at the can bar, all 20 or so of them, then who else. Rousing and deserved response of applause in appreciation of the players today as they left the ground was enough to warm one's heart. Whilst it may not be what it used to once be, WAFL footy still has a pulse.

Not sure if its normal for the Peel/Freo FC players and coaching staff to stick around after their away matches and attend the home teams player presentations and also do their own but kudos to them for doing so. Represents a small show of respect not only to the SDFC but also to the comp in my eyes, especially after a difficult loss. If only those at the club formerly known as East Perth could show the same humility & respect towards the rest of the comp instead of boasting about how elite they are at every opportunity.
