What are you talking about avoiding the spoon ya clown! We have arguably one of the best spines in the comp with Ames, Simpson, Notte , Geappen and a shitload of talented youngsters coming through we will be around the place 5th/6th and with a bit of luck in the gun for a finals berth, but we wont finish last!!

Agree SD, I think we need to all stay calm and see what happens leading into the new season. We knew that the budget was going to have to be tightened at some stage and the board are obviously being responsible and doing that this year. I don't begrudge guys leaving the club for a better deal as you only have a limited life as a footy player. Guys like Twomey and Robinson have given Swans 6 excellent years of service and good luck to them if they see better opportunities elsewhere. These changes will give Swans an opportunity to really have a proper look at some of their younger players in 2014 and try and develop a team around these guys.

To you and Turtle it is illegal to trade in an insolvent position. It would appear to me that the board is making prudent decisions to live within its means, and to do what it is legally required to do. Whilst it is disappointing that we are in this position it needs to be said that the current board is not responsible for the current financial state of Swan Districts. HOWEVER, they are responsible for ensuring that we do have a long term future. To Turtle we do need to win some games; however, we have to be responsible in that aim.

If you are a long time supporter of Swans you may recall a time where winning games was not a primary consideration.

Perhaps a challenge for all Swans' members is to recruit another Swans' supporter to join the club for 2014 season. If we all did that we would obviously double our membership and provide a much needed boost to our revenue stream.

Are you talking about the younger players that helped your colts win only 4 games last year?

Hey, atleast the titanic Claremont Swans battles will continue next season, it may be to avoid bottom spot rather than get top spot now though!

And the Ducks still have guys like Jukes , Cary , Coniglio , Blakely (2) etc (sure I've missed a couple more here too)... and hey they might be able to get old Ash Hansen back if he hasn't got a job over East anymore
