Absolutely, Subi has beaten them twice this season and you guys are a better team than Subi, but you'd need to reduce the overuse of the footy as their elite AFL fulltimers will destroy you on the turnovers. Depends which Peelmantle team turns up on the day.

deprive space (man up strictly)
tackles have to be above the waist (higher than usual)
AFL scrumming has to be seriously fucked with (get players between theirs)
throw everything at their players when they have the pill (push , scrag , tackle , smother)
get early goals to shut their mung crowd up (remember it's down in theifsville)

I would have thought for Swans, this match is winnable. Last time if my memory is correct Swans losing margin was about 3 goals? What worries me is sometimes they have more ball possessions than opposition teams and still can't get over the line. If their goal accuracy can improve in Away games and stop fluffing around when they are using the ball, no reason they cannot get the 4 points in this game. Weather forecast is not looking the best around the various venues on game day, so they'll need to adjust for wet weather footy.

My goodness! Is that Germs I see in the team?  Good luck young man. At least Jesse GM is there to provide support. I also note that Michael Walters is playing for Peel. If the weather forecast is as predicted (i.e a deluge), it will be a real slog and the team that is able to best execute their skills in the conditions will win.

Erasmus included also. If your coach doesn't rate Germs he is welcome at the red and black team at Lathlain next year.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Either all players were affected by a slow carbon monoxide leak into the team bus on the way down, or they're on the take.

Swans seem to have hit the wall over the past 4 weeks. A lucky draw against South, an unconvincing win over Subiaco, then belted by 2 premiership contenders. They are playing their worst footy of the season right now when all the others in the top 5 are building up for the finals. They need to regroup in the next 7 days to at least try and get a win over Perth to get some confidence back in their game. Perth would sense a real chance here to knock us over and therefore give South a chance of sneaking in to 5th.

Was looking forward to the second half of this match. 4 scoring shots to 6 at the long break had the game very close. I realise the weather and ground conditions would have been challenging. Then Swans only kicked 9 points for the second half! They are not exactly in good form running into the Finals which must be a bit of a worry to the Swans camp. Swans would be hoping to not drop 3 consecutive matches prior to the Finals. Next weeks final qualifier hosting Perth will be no pushover walk in the park as The Demons were unlucky today. And Perth footy club will want to finish their season strongly next week.
If Swans lose to Perth next week, the league ladder gets interesting.  If East Fremantle & Claremont both win, those teams will leapfrog Swans on the league ladder.

These last 2 games against the best 2 teams in the comp were going to be a true test of Swans game style and on both occasions they were exposed quite badly. Losing contest and starting the majority of your attacks from the back half is fraught with danger and unsustainable, it happens almost every week. The only real way to be a genuine contender is playing a contested brand with a bit of chaos that is backed up by consistent pressure and effort, and a fwd half game.

Swans wane in form for mine has been because of an overuse of the football backward of centre and teams have brought a higher level of in your face pressure that has then resulted in an unbalanced disposal count and far too many handballs. These days if you do use more of the handball then it’s needs to be more of a fwd handball to players out the front but in recent weeks the extra hand balls are sideways and backwards to try and relieve pressure and all that’s resulting in is more handballs and more pressure. And intern Swans pressure has also dropped which hasn’t allowed them to create enough turnovers and slingshot back the other way.

Swans must fix the contest, hit more 45’s to change angles rather than go sideways or backwards and have more emphasis on fwd handballs.

Forecast for the back half of the week does not look promising so hopefully the ground can hold up.

You’d expect Notte and Blakely to come in. Interestingly Germs was listed in the best yesterday but that’s probably not worth the paper it’s written on.

Some big calls on the make up of the team. Does Erceg hold his spot with Notte returning, does Chipper continue to play as he lacks leg speed and a defensive edge while not a great attacking option either - Cartwright and Hewitt better options
imo.

A lot for Pruyn and his team to consider.

Hopefully the boys can come with a level of intensity that the opportunity requires, from the first bounce, and us long suffering supporters can look forward to a double chance run at it.
