I think the main reason that the forward line was dysfunctional in the first half was because West Perth were dominating the clearances and when Swans had the ball their kicks into the forward 50 were under pressure and not to the advantage of the forwards. I also think though that Kohlmann and Edwards were getting in each others way somewhat down there. Edwards just seemed to be going for speccie marks in the first half and Kohlmann seemed out of sorts, probably due to the injury he picked up. Once Edwards was the main man, he led out very well, took some good strong marks and the results were there to see on the scoreboard.

Next time Edwards and Kohlmann play in the same game, I would like to see them both be clearer about what their roles are and try and stretch the opposition defence. They are both really good players with different strengths and if they work together it may give Swans a lot more opportunities to score.

Yes, the theme of this conversation suggests that after Swans' second half one of the league's leading goal kickers might find it difficult to get back into the team. That's not the case, but Swans need to operate so that Kohlmann and Edwards with different game styles needed to be accommodated without running into each other.

O'Donohue's shift to the wing/middle after half-time could be evidence that the coach is becoming shrewder. O'Donohue had held the dangerous Knott in the first half and shifting off him could have backfired, but the moved worked.

Not sure. He hasn't played in any reserves or league game this year ( one scratch match in March I think). I don't want to criticise the club too much because all the other recruits in 2024 have been great. Stack was a massive risk given his history and it looks like it hasn't paid off. Easy money for Perth.
