Swans first chance to create a bit of mischief in the battle for the top 5 comes this week at the WACA.  Funny that Swans are coming into this game on the back of two victories and the Sharks with 2 losses. East Freo will be desperate not to make this a hat trick otherwise they may start drifting back from the teams they are competing with for finals spots.
Hopefully Swans can be a bit more competitive this time than they were at the WACA last year when we got absolutely smashed.

Like EP were, SD are a due a win v EF....especially after some recent close losses to EF. After that fantastic win v Cl, EF have lost the plot a wee bit, their forwards just not firing at all....especially JMarsh, who from/including the state game, hasn't fired a shot. SD will keen to make itc3 on the trot and EF will be just as keen not to make it 3 on the trot too.

Out of interest, where's that SD poster who loves eating eating his hat...Scottish fella....seems to have disappeared altogether from OzFooty.

I assume Glass is out for a while after the knock to the head last week. Despite Freez's comment, Marsh will be difficult to counter with our full-back out.

No Glass-McCasker you would think on top of talls Erceg & Collins already gone down in our backline plus lockdown defenders Bright & Spackman also out, will make it almost impossible to keep Marsh, Leggett, O'Reilly, Montauban, English, Dixon, McGuire etc in check especially if those up the ground dont put enough pressure on.
Lynch might come in for his debut.

Yes we are running out of troops in the backline, I read someone say that Ireland may be back so he would be handy to support the defence.. Maybe with Glass out it could be a chance to give Caporn a debut. He has kicked 20 goals in reserves so far this year including 4 last week. Jones could then drop down back to assist with the potent Sharks forward line..

Another game, another piss poor goalkicking display.
If you wonder why we are such a poor goal scoring side (the worst % wise not including WCER) it is because we are constantly taking shots from deep in the pockets and flanks, forwards lead there instead of up the middle.
We had more of the ball but EF were far more direct and utilised the corridor more efficiently something SD seem immune from doing and O'Reilly (son of former Swan Stephen) was the beneficiary of their better ball use inside 50.
We battled ok but we make it so hard for ourselves week after week.
Its alright doing pre season boot camps (could that be a reason we have constantly had a third of the squad injured for virtually the entire season) but maybe a focus on actual football skills eg kicking elite, holding a tackle etc may be of more benefit moving forward.........

Just so frustrating to watch them lose another winnable game due to poor skills and execution of game plan. But the premiership table doesn't lie. Swans are exactly where they deserve to be.

Maybe next time we appoint a coach we do an actual process that involves asking if the game plan that didn’t work for the last bloke is going to be used again.
We would be on top if the goals were on the wings.

MO do you think there was an actual process involved for the new coaching appointment at the end of last season or was it more a case of as Swan42 would describe it a fait accompli as to who was getting the position?!
