Real opportunity for Perth here. Swans were pretty dreadful last week bar one quarter when the ammos ran out of steam so I don't think they gained much in the way of confidence out of that. The Demons will obviously need to play better than they did against Claremont but they seem to be more comfortable playing away from Lathlain Park these days and a performance similar to what they put up at Fremantle a few weeks ago would possibly be enough to give them the points.

And this week 9 of fixturing is the half way mark. And all the teams have 2 byes to sit out in the second half of the season.
According to the weatherman, going to be an afternoon of wet weather footy this week.

No Frank Anderson in either league or reserves this week. Anyone know what the situation is with him?

Correct is it Brad Lynch that was drafted to the Western Bulldogs from our Colts system.

His last game for Swans was the Colts Grand Final in 2015.
The Mayor has spoken..

Doesn't matter who we play, we are guaranteed a close game. Great to see Jones back and to hear that Ireland will most likely return next week, but disappointed that Morris left the club due to a lack of opportunity. In my opinion, he had better potential than Germs, but Germs played well today.

The coach's spray at Cipro at 1/4 time had the effect of taking Thompson out of the game for a while in the second that was probably out best quarter (and well done to Cipro in lifting his game), but we go to sleep too often, giving up sizeable leads.

When was the last time Swans played even close to 4 qtrs of good consistent football???
I am thinking at least a decade or more ago.
Even when we are dominating the play we fail to hurt teams on the scoreboard, where it matters.
Not even close to having a ruthless streak amongst our playing group sadly, as that is what wins big games!

Our wastefulness nearly cost us again today. 48 inside 50s to 36, yet we only won by a goal kicked after the final siren. Perth would have probably felt aggrieved seeing that Swans got double their tally of free kicks in the game. The final one was there but it is often the ones that they fail to give which can impact on what happens in a game.

Swans style of play is totally uninspiring, full of skill errors and ultimately hard to watch. They even struggled with the Eagles last week until the last 20 minutes of the match when the opposition got tired.

This brand of football is not going to cut it with any of the top 6 teams and I suspect we are going to be belted all over the WACA next week.

Yep, good point. Against Subi we had the ball for ages and scored little, and the same happened today. No scoreboard pressure.

Great performance by the reserves team to win 8 out of their first 9 games to sit on top of the ladder. We will have one team to cheer for in this years finals series at least.
