Well that was a hard fought win.Swans looked in all kind of trouble at 1/4 time.Perth where leading against a 20 knot NW breeze.
Rain came midway through the second. And stopped Perth from a 5 goal+ half time lead.
Wind died down in the second half. And it was wet and slippery.Swans had more men behind the ball.Which trapped the ball in there fwd half.
Got a lucky decision midway through the last qtr.A mark paid to Tom Edwards in the square. Was right behind that he only had one bite at the footy. The match was as good as over as the Perth players heads all dropped,,that's footy.A fight started from that decision, with another Swans shot at goal.

Good fightback given the conditions. Seem to remember a similar pattern to the game in Round 3 at Lathlain when Perth were around 4 goals up at half time before we snatched it at the end.
There has been a bit of a trend this year that Swans have started slowly in many games they have played, in fact they have only led in 3 out of 11 games at half time. This has meant that they have had to come from behind for many of their wins. As the season comes to the business end they might want to address these slow starts as good teams don't give you paths back into the game when they are 4-5 goals in front

Couldn't make Saturday's game. From reports a few out, but again the injuries covered well by those brought in that seem the pleasant norm for us this season. I assume Fisher's leg injury from a fortnight ago needed another week?

We were right SH Perth always lift against us as was the case on Saturday especially in the 1st half.
I knew there was going to be some late changes as the emergencies all were not playing in the Ressies and so it proved with Fisher, Jones, Ireland, Ehlers & Beck all out from the Subi game.
But all of the inclusions Hilton, Hewett, Ottaviano, O'Donoghue & Bayok all acquitted themselves well at late notice.
Our 1st half was very ordinary indeed but full credit to the Demons they really played well and took their chances kicking straight when going forward whilst we tried to play perfect weather football that was just not on in such windy and wet conditions.
Finally in the 2nd half we started to play a more surge brand of footy, get the football moving forward as quick and long as possible at all cost with limited handballs which is how to play footy in the wet and slippery conditions!

Thanks BH. I was worried when I friend texted me that 'we are getting smashed' just before my phone died. I was obviously pleasantly surprised when I entered a country pub to see the last few minutes on TV and see we were 17 points up.

You highlight one of the club's strengths this year - those coming in to cover late minute withdrawals are covering the gaps more than adequately. Great seeing Hilton picking up +20 possessions, while it was good to see Greg O and Bayok getting opportunities. Both are talented in different ways but just need a little bit more football experience and physical growth.
