After a weeks break we take on the Demons again this week at Basso.
Swans and Perth always seem to have close hard fought battles, Rd3 being an example and this week should be no exception.
Perth have been playing some good footy even with some key players missing and I would expect they should get some back after the mid season bye.
Swans had some injury concerns of our own after the Subi game, hopefully the weeks break has helped with their recovery. 

Did anyone else arrive at Steele Blue 1.40 last Saturday,like me.Driving over the bridge on Lord Street.Thinking wow a really poor crowd today.lol.

If Swans have ambition to go deep into September, this is a game they should be winning comfortably. The danger is the team going into this clash with a complacent attitude as they did in the first half when they played the West Coast Eagles and found themselves 4 goals down at half time. If you look at Perths performances over the past month they have been competitive against some higher ranked teams and the bye may have given them a chance to reset and get some injured players back.

And with Perth coming off their 6th consecutive loss, one would think a win or 3 or 4 to be just around the corner. With the anticipated wet weather forecasted on game day, this match will probably be low scoring and scrappy. Swans better not take this game lightly. We are now in the second half of the season and Perth could be trouble for the sides vying for a Finals spot.

I have a bad feeling about this game. As BH hinted, Perth play well against us despite SD having the wood over them in the last few years. 

I hope the week's break has been sufficient to get O'Donohue fit. 

Stop talking it up. Perth are cooked. Demoralised. 

I think your on the money Ted, Swans played super footy especially after halftime v Subi, so if they play like that again it could get just as ugly, I hope not but form says otherwise.

I assume its starting at 1.40 to fit in with an AFL telecast?

That post of Ted's is code that Perth will win.....i vaguely remember Ted downplaying Perth's chances before  those against all odds WP and SF wins last year....Perth by 5 pts at the death

That upset over West Perth in 2021 was a rare victory for Perth over the Falcons so you can understand Ted's Pessimism. They have only beaten West Perth 4 times in the last 40 games!  Funny enough 3 of these victories were at Joondalup with one at Muckinbudin as well as a draw at Lathlain. The last time Perth beat West Perth at Lathlain was round 9 2004, so their win/loss against Swans looks pretty good compared with that.. Again their recent record against Swans at Bassendean is better than their record at Lathlain. Who could forget the French Swans water boy incident in 2013 when monsieur  threw the ball away after it had gone out of bounds and conceded a 50 metre penalty to Perth for the winning goal.
