This week we take the trip down the Kwinana/Forrest Hwy to the Estuary and on a long weekend to boot.
Good to get the 4 points last week after dropping 2 in a row against perennial Top 4 aspirants and this week we take on another side who have Top 4 aspirations.
Freo will probably bring back Taberner this week so Treacy will be back for Peel but not sure where else Freo's injury list as at as havent followed it closely.
For us Jetts has served his 1 week suspension, not sure where Costigan is at injury wise after being injured 5 minutes into the season vs CL whilst unfortunately Spackman might have injured his knee last week vs EF and could be out for a while which is a shame as he was really cementing his spot down back as a lockdown defender and one of the few to keep Knott from WP goalless a few weeks back, but quite a few boys in the Ressies are putting their hand up for selection.

....And this match being covered by SportFM apparently. A win by Swans here would help position themselves in a good spot as we approach the second half of the season.

Has anyone heard what the results were from Spackman's knee scan are?

Reported in the West today that Spackman has ruptured his ACL and is out for the rest of the season. Very unfortunate for him as he had developed into a very reliable defender.
As for the game who knows what we will get from Peel on Saturday. They have beaten Perth, East Perth and West Coast but have lost to Subiaco, Claremont, East Fremantle and South Fremantle. That would suggest that they are very beatable and if Swans can play at their best on Saturday we should come away with a victory to lift us to 5-3.
These are the sorts of games we need to bank in order to be considered a finals chance. Jetta is back and will probably be the only change, replacing Spackman
Unlike WCE reserves, Peel have a cohort of good WAFL players to back up the Fremantle guys.

Dreadful news about young Spackman Mike.
He was becoming a very reliable lockdown defender for us.

If you guys can bring the same sort of aggressive physical pressure you did against Subi in the 2nd half you should easily account for Peelmantle, hope you give them a shellacking.

There are a few cliches applicable to that one, but I'll select 'a win is a win'. The positive is that we could still pull off a win despite so many having off days - at least Edwards' one kick was super effective. Eight games, and only one goal score against over ten (vs Cl), with the defence again playing well today.

Interested to hear the story about Jetta's absence today. Bright playing a reserves and league game means it must have been short notice.

I warned you all last week. Time to say goodbye to Jetta!!! And despite our record it’s time Pickering went also.

Didn't get there but from following the scores it sounds like Swans were lucky that Peels conversion rate was appalling. They had around 20 more inside 50's in the game which you would think would have translated into a win for the home team. Jettas no show is a concern but why would you want Pickering to go now Danger, when Swans are 5 - 3 and a definite chance for finals?
