SH it is just so hard to imagine Spud playing for anyone other than Swans he is just such a legend of the Swan District through his sports playing, business & media careers over many many decades.

42 I only saw bits and pieces of the Reserves but as I posted the week before to you Warrick's skills and smarts alone should have him in our League side soon, I guess it just gets back to where his fitness levels are at after missing all of last season.

True BH. However, Keith always tested himself with new things and wanted to taste success. The move to Subi in 1964 was because he want to try coaching - and he had Buckley's and none of performing that role at Swans after a third flag in '63.

A little known story is his vigorous attempt to transfer to Claremont for the 1961 season. In the lead up to the season it appeared that Claremont was going to be the club to change football in the State - new coach from Victoria, star full-forward etc. etc.. Keith was apparently shattered at missing selection for the tour of England and wanted a change and success on the football field that Swans hadn't provided up to that point. I do not know why he changed his mind and stayed, but as they say, the rest is history.
