We went 50/50 in the pre season matches going down to SF at Fremantle by 4 points and then beating WCER at Basso by 5 points in steaming hot conditions.
Claremont are always hard to beat and are again one of the main fancies to win the flag in 2021 along with SF, SU & WP.
For us a few first 22 regulars in Anderson, Cipro, Ireland & Wilson havent played at all in the pre season whilst Fisher missed the last match also.
Claremont have lost Waterman who killed us at CL Oval in the last abbreviated season to Ess, Lee also always played well against us has retired , & Nyhuis has gone home to NT, whilst they have regained former afl drafted players Watson, Treacy, Patmore & Butters and possibly one or 2 others.
Thoughts on this game Swans supporters and or TOO?

The forecast is for 30 on Saturday.  BH how would you rate our fitness levels this season?  Also, in the scratch matches did you see any signs that there was a more attacking mindset or are we likely to struggle to kick more than 7 or 8 goals a games again this season?

42 in the 2 pre season games the scores from memory were as follows-

SD- 8.3 (51)
SF- 7.13 (55)

SD- 10.12 (72)
WCER- 10.7 (67)

On that score (so to speak) would you think they are winning goal tally totals?

Expecting a win here myself, the hot weather and fast track should suit our hard running youngish team and I think we're reasonably close to full strength. Looking forward to seeing Treacy back in that forward line to add some razzle dazzle, he got a tough deal only having the covid season at West Coast.
Always nervous playing at Basso though, it's never a picnic there

Realistically no I don't think they would win many games in dry conditions.

To say I’m frothing at the prospect of going to a footy match on Sat would be a massive understatement. Bringing the young fella to his first ever swannies game, meeting up with me old boy at the front bar of the holy lands....doesn’t get any effen better. Glad to hear it’s gonna be a fine day...Can’t wait...bring it on!

on a footy note really looking forward to seeing the development of a few blokes I haven’t seen go round for a couple of seasons - let’s hope it’s a bit more exciting than a 8-10 goal defencefest.... pleaaaaase 🙏

DW hopefully we channel the spirit of our teams of the early 80s and we have a good win to ensure that your young fella is hooked to the black and whites for life.

DW I am not sure of DW Jnr's age but I am sure we all remember seeing our first Swans game or seeing our first game at Basso Oval, it sticks in the memory forever and hopefully he gets as hooked on the Black & Whites as we all did pre the afl days!

Wow back to the future 1970's or 80's.
38 goals scored in a game of Wafl footy.
Started well for Swans who lead 6-0 vs 1-2 at QTR time.Set up by Palmer, welcome back.Jettas silky skills.Gault getting first hands on the footy.Tom Edwards looks like a Sidebottom and fights for the footy like one.Andersons clearance work.
When Palmer goaled early in the 2nd .Swans lead blew out to over 30 points. However the half fwd line broke down badly in the 2nd.
Claremont endurance midfield took over.Bolton, Mitchell,Lynn, Barton, Running down the ground it was terrific to watch.
Swans had a pulse late in the 3rd..I'm happy to score 18 goals and don't care of we lose every week.If we have a red hot go.
Watched some of the ressies and seen some midfield run there. However don't think another Wafl midfield lases Claremonts boots.
Was excited to see Swans pre game warm up drill.Tap to midfield.Straight down the corridor.
Bolton- A club like North Melbourne has to look at him in the mid season draft. As a stop gap to help Ziebell and Cunnington in the midfield.Hes a fantastic footballer.
