Folk are talking about Gault BH...apparently he is a monty for the Swan Medal...so what's wrong in just extending the conversation mate to what might happen post his Swan Medal win.....

I will throw my two bobs worth in-

1. Corey Gault will probably be the recipient again this year he pretty much dominated the ruck in every game bar maybe the EP match and was like an extra midfielder as well with good disposal numbers. His marking and tap work was career best this season and a future Captain of the club succeeding Riggs & Tony.
2. Sam Fisher had a great debut year highlighted by his 37 disposal game vs EP where he fought a virtual lone hand for us that day. Is forming a nice combination with Gault in the ruck.
3. Jesse Turner had a great season again and continues to improve every season and must be our fittest player who seems to run all day. His 32 disposal 3 goal game against EF was imho a career best and is closing in on 100 games now for the club and one of the younger brigade to lead us forward into the future.
4. Frank Anderson like Sam had a great debut season and was consistently among our best players and a welcome addition to the club and our midfield.
5. Josh Cipro was good to see him string a full season together as his body has been plagued by injury and illness for a number of years. Can become a quality mid in the League and has the power to be a line breaker and a goalkicker.

Most improved I would say would probably come from Jiah Reidy or Anthony Stephens who both improved this season on last with improved fitness and hopefully can go to another level again next year. Brandon Erceg was also consistent down back after missing all of last season through injury.

Best first year player will probably go to either Sam or Frank but Denver Grainger-Barrass (if eligible after 1 game last year) and Brayden Spackman will also be amongst the voting whilst Nathan Ireland started to find his niche this year down back and occasionally up forward.

Well I had the Top 4 in order correct but Erceg actually finished 5th in the Swan Medal count last night which was reward for a good year after missing all of 2019 with injury.
Congrats to Corey on his 2nd Swan Medal and to Sam, Jesse, Frank & Brandon on their 2020 season as well.
Also congrats to Jake Dugan on winning the Reserves F&B & Ayden Cartwright on winning the Colts F&B for 2020.
Hopefully both boys progress on to League footy at Swans in 2021 and beyond.

Have to comment abt Jake Dugan, played colts and ressies at EP but was very much in the same boat as alot of players at the time, went ammo's and now at Swans. Perseverance is a great quality and a just reward for him. His grand father asked me many times abt what he needed to do to go to the next level, I always said that he was good but a few were better and the Grand dad always said that he loved my honest appraisal, Cowboy will be so proud of him!

I quite liked the look of him Grump.
A bit of a no nonsense style mid size backman who can read the play well and take an intercept mark.
I hope he and quite a few others who didnt get an or much of an opportunity in this shortened season persist at it as I think they can play League footy at Swans next season and beyond.
They only have to look at team mates the likes of Turner (3rd in Swan Medal), Erceg (5th in Swan Medal) & Kohlmann etc who didnt get a look in for a while but have now become League regulars through hard work and persistence.

Well done to Corey. Without doubt the best player at Swans this year.
