Thoughts fellow Swannies supporters on who will win this seasons Swan Medal?
I will throw my two bobs worth in-

1. Corey Gault will probably be the recipient again this year he pretty much dominated the ruck in every game bar maybe the EP match and was like an extra midfielder as well with good disposal numbers. His marking and tap work was career best this season and a future Captain of the club succeeding Riggs & Tony.
2. Sam Fisher had a great debut year highlighted by his 37 disposal game vs EP where he fought a virtual lone hand for us that day. Is forming a nice combination with Gault in the ruck.
3. Jesse Turner had a great season again and continues to improve every season and must be our fittest player who seems to run all day. His 32 disposal 3 goal game against EF was imho a career best and is closing in on 100 games now for the club and one of the younger brigade to lead us forward into the future.
4. Frank Anderson like Sam had a great debut season and was consistently among our best players and a welcome addition to the club and our midfield.
5. Josh Cipro was good to see him string a full season together as his body has been plagued by injury and illness for a number of years. Can become a quality mid in the League and has the power to be a line breaker and a goalkicker.

Most improved I would say would probably come from Jiah Reidy or Anthony Stephens who both improved this season on last with improved fitness and hopefully can go to another level again next year. Brandon Erceg was also consistent down back after missing all of last season through injury.

Best first year player will probably go to either Sam or Frank but Denver Grainger-Barrass (if eligible after 1 game last year) and Brayden Spackman will also be amongst the voting whilst Nathan Ireland started to find his niche this year down back and occasionally up forward.

Gault by a long way. Fisher second by a long way. Turner 3rd Wouldn’t be Surprised if an Erceg popped up for a high finish. Rarely beaten at full back. Anderson 5th. If I get it can I go double or nothing on my steak dinners laddies?

I would concur with everyone regards Corey Gault. His name appears very regularly in the best players listing. He's hardly put a foot wrong I heard.

Gault surely will be top 3 in the Sandover too...if he wins the Sandover it may secure him another AFL gig?....compared to spuds like Vardy, Vickery and Meek, Gault would offer WCE or Freo a better option then them....would be happy to have him at the WBD to allow English to play a more tall mid or forward role...would be a huge loss to SD if Gault got another AFL gig tho.

I remember you bagging him when he was at Collingwood too Freeze before he came back to SD.
Now you want him at Footscray FMD lol

What true ruckman would want to go to Footscray where their coach doesnt value them hence why he plays blokes like Dunkley, Bruce etc over a good young ruckman like English in the ruck whist Tom Boyd rucked in their GF? Percy would shake his head in disbelief at that lack of love for the ruck!

BH how old is Gault, surely if he's still in his mid 20's he's good enough to be on an AFL list? Ruckmen dont usuually reach their peak till 26-28yo.

It would be a blow to Swans to lose him but he deserves a go imho.

Gault is outstanding at Wafl level but Wafl and AFL are 2 entirely different levels, and Gault did struggle to dominate against the Royal twin towers, but i think your club is heading in the right direction, and after us swans probably have the most upside in the competition.

I'm a Subi man Royallucky, but admire the way Gault goes about it, tall athletic fella with very good skills and very mobile, the current prototype of an AFL ruckman, could thrive in an AFL environment and training regime.

Yes S.S a slip of the tongue i know your a Subi man,but i don't think Swans will have to panic losing Gault as he has already been in the AFL system for a few years and i doubt the recruiters will re visit signing Gault for a second time but who knows i could be wrong.
