JS, good to see ypu back, whilst only maybe a passing visit, great to see you up n about anyway. Very enlightening post mate, thanks for sharing, and hopefully some thoughts the new owner takes on board.

From memory of that Waflon site,  the Perth thread was very feral in house , with a  lot of that aggro being directed at a particular  Perth poster called BTB, who many of the Perth posters thought or knew to be Max Duffy's dad....not sure if true, but it was at a time when Duffy transferred from Perth's colts to EF colts. I remember a poster called  DW and BTB going hammer and tongs at each other...and a few other Perth posters, but their posting names escape me.

I'd be interested to see how many Footy Goss posters are still kicking on here at Oz Footy....FG was no place for the weak hearted, I used to particularly  enjoy my banter with Dogman on that site, plus another SF poster called Balla,  who I later was told was an ex SF player, one of the Collard brothers apparantly, though never confirmed.

BF was like the 70's and 80's footy, a lot of great characters with a lot of  behind the play stuf going off  everywhere,  fast and furious, but very entertaining to watch....and to participate in. Great days.

As one of those on TT's very revealing list of absent friends, I couldn't help but reflect on why I decided to be a lurker, rather than contributor, about 5 years ago.

The revelations in this thread caused me to re-visit my previous last few posts back in 2020, to understand why I made that decision.

It basically came down to inconsistency, and what I thought then was favouritism ie why was I being threatened, or actually sinned binned, when I had PM'd the Admin asking why another party was apparently free to post what they liked. So I decided that rather than walk that tightrope, I would just take a sabbatical.

Now knowing that the Admin I was talking to was also the poster who I was raising questions about, and who at the same time was disingenuously stating they were not a Mod, confirms my point. And if this thread is anything to go by, nothing seems to have changed much.

I wonder how many others on the list share similar thoughts? I would welcome a revival of OzFooty, and a re-appearance of some "missing" members under the new owner, but I again revert back to Mike's sentiments above.

I'm sure this will be seen by at least one member as "shit-stirring", but it really isn't.

Disappointing that one person's previous influence and the double standards that existed saw you walk away from being an active valued participant on Ozfooty - you're not the only one unfortunately! Do we need a MOGA movement but without a bloated orange narcissit leading the way. 

There's a few common threads to the majority of responses to this threads and a common denominator too. Lets hope the 'new' owner is in fact a new owner and some positive changes get made. 

G’day Jacko, good to see you back, albeit in passing.  We crossed swords, but at least it was civilised.  I got sent to OzF jail too.  Was it deserved?  Maybe it was deserved, maybe not - OFA thought so.  I remember there were a few around us that should have joined me.  Mate, be careful about going on the Perth site….😁😁😁

G'day JS.  Nice to hear from you.  I hope all is good in your part of the world and life is treating you well.  Bumped into our mutual mate last year during his flying visit to SH.  He seems fit and healthy and his better half likewise.  It'd be good to catch up if you're ever down this way.

The SF thread is basically down to two of us now - Southy ( who's the mod.) and myself,  once had a regulars, Roman, Dwert, South4Ever, and a few others all long since gone. 

sadly it is confirmed that some of those guys are deceased - some of the lost posters were in fact dual & triple and in certain cases even more login characters 
and then there's some who have just given away the game because it's been ruined as a spectacle
I know certain WAFL club player legends who captained their sides who refuse point blank to even watch the game nowadays

Interested to know who has passed away Southy??, only one I am certain of is Oslumbird, who was South and legend on the blogsites, writer and ex journo, where are they now...

Apparently there are over 1700 members on this site. Yet it seems to be the same handful of posters regularly posting. No offence to the regulars.
Sad to notice the Claremont topic is as dead as a door nail.  There seems to be only 2 members commenting on the Souths thread.
Perth,  Swans, East Frem, Subiaco seem to be the liveliest headings. Having more posters involved would be good.

Yes WestAussie it's just me and Southy now on our thread, pretty sad tbh compared to the former crew ,, Roman was great.

When I first came on this site the first person to respond to one of my posts was Swan42. I'm sure most long time posters will remember him. Needless to say he was a fair bit further to the left than most people on this website, and he rubbed some up the wrong way but I always found him articulate and respectful in what he said even though I didn't agree with all of his views.
Outer Seagull, Swandog, Mark Olsen, Cardy, Leedy, Anchorman and Talking footy were also prominent contributors when I first joined. Some of these were banned, Most came back with other user names.
Actually come to think of it, this might have been the old Footygoss site. I have been around for too long 

I remember Ozfooty admin getting a lot of likes (thank you's) from a lot of Swan Districts supporters on here including you mike, for giving several warnings and temporary bans to the outer seagull. Funny how now you mike say gee this and that were banned would be great to see them back.

Quite sick how people think a site owner putting up his money and time to save a broken down site that was going to be shut down previously owned (created) by 2 Swans supporters, spent a fair bit of money making the necessary changes/upgrades to fix it yet now has to put up with oxygen theives getting their second wind at the prospect of new ownership. Goes to show a lack of character of certain people on this site who are ungrateful and entitled.

I saved this site for everyone's benefit but I know what completely ruins discussion forums. Idiot's that just constantly shit stir trying to get under people's skin.

Anyone with half a brain knows the difference between banter and just being a troll and a nuisance. Then things get personal and out of hand. Those people need to be dealt with because topics get hijacked and anyone coming new onto the site will click on a topic, then after reading think hang on what did I click on?

How does that attract people to this site? Are you stupid? Just like this topic, nothing but sniping at the previous owner. By the way this site was sold several years ago as I couldn't afford to invest the time and $$$ to go through another upgrade. I sold it to save it. I recently touched base with to ask why no new genuine members have joined in the last couple of years yet spammers were able to create new accounts.

After investigation they found that Captcha was broken. They fixed it and that's why new members have been able to join. Was then told the site is under new ownership.
